This week on the Punknews Podcast host Chris Moran is joined by Adam White and John Gentile to discuss such world shattering issues as the breakdown of the World/Inferno Friendship Society / Adicts tour, the upcoming Rise Against / Gaslight Anthem / Hot Water Music tour, and the Black Sabbath reunion without Bill Ward. Most importantly, we address the question that all of the Punknews community has rallied behind: who the fuck is Matt Toka?
...all this and music from You Blew It!, Eschatology and Dukowski.

The music captured on this material is an ethereal, resonant execution of what could be described as eastern acoustic punk. Likened to the voyeurism of Sandy Bull, Sir Richard Bishop, or Jack Rose style raga's reinterpreted at times with Drive Like Jehu, Minutemen punk velocity, other moments emotionally spiraling toward a haunting, ethereal beauty akin to Vashti Bunyan lost in the desert of a desolate western.

Brooklyn's The National have recorded a song for the Season 2 Game of Thrones soundtrack. Titled "The Rains of Castamere," the song is inspired by George R.R. Martin's beloved A Song of Ice and Fire series tells the story of Lord Tywin Lannister's brutal victory over the House Reyne of Castamere. As you might expect, the song eschews modern instrumentation in order to better fit in the medieval era of the novels.

In a new interview, Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman addresses a frequent band request for the annual touring festival. Apparently one of the most frequently requested acts for the tour is Blink 182 who last performed on the tour in 2001 but also previously headlined or participated in 1996, 1997, and 1999. Lyman explained the problem:
Everyone always says, 'Bring Blink!' Just as a sheer economics project, think about what Blink-182 would cost and what you'd pay for a Blink-182 ticket compared to a Warped Tour ticket. It doesn't work economically for Blink. They're always welcome to come back. The door is never shut for anyone, but they've just gotta figure out how to come be part of it and still make it work for that $40 ticket at the door.

Angels and Airwaves have posted their video for "Surrender." The song comes from LOVE, Part 2 and the video itself was directed by William Eubank, who also directed the LOVE film. The video also includes a guest appearance by Evan Glodell and the car from his film, Bellflower, which was awesome.
