Watch the new video by Laserchrist!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by Southeast London-based punk rockers Lasterchrist! The video is for their new song “Sssnakes”. It was filmed and animated by Ryan Griffiths and the idea was formed by Yusuf Laher (formerly of Laserchrist and currently of Vampire Slumber Party). Speaking about the song the band said,

”The song is about being a little bit of a poor boy hobo and the people who surround him. He has complicated relationships within an unforgiving and savage city. It took on the name ‘Snakes and Ladders’ for a little bit since the song is pretty much about ups and downs, but we eventually just stuck with ‘Sssnakes’”.

”Sssnakes” will be on Laserchrist’s upcoming debut self-titled LP which will be out next year via Little Rocket Records and Sell The Heart Records. Watch the video below!

"It's a song about outrageous behavior completed with total abandon that might seem foolish or strange from the outside. Disregard convention and expectation. Watch the new lyric video by Fabled Mind!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new lyric video by Copenhagen-based punks Fabled Mind! The video is for their song “Architects of Deception” and was created by Cold North Creative who was inspired by Rocio Arcenegui's illustration for the song. Speaking about the song, lead vocalist Dion Finne said,

“In this part of the story, the protagonist joins a resistance group to observe individuals connected to 'Project Paradise' and plot control over the system's simulations. The song serves as a protest anthem, rejecting a life dominated by unconscious choices, addressing surveillance and tech company influence. With musical diversity and theatricality, it offers a lighthearted thought-provoking commentary on technology's impact on social control.”

”Architects of Deception” is off Fabled Mind’s upcoming album Project Paradise which will be out on November 4 via Lockjaw Records and Thousand Island Records. Watch the video below!

Burnt Tapes

Watch the new video by Burnt Tapes!

Today we are stoked to bring you the premiere of the new video by London, UK-based punks Burnt Tapes! The song is for their new track “Little Sister” which features Hanna Hermione Greenwood of Creeper. The video was directed by Liam Pinheiro-Rogers, edited by Andreas Argyrou, and assistant produced by Yulet Gjurgji. Speaking about the song, lead vocalist and guitarist Phil L. said,

”’Little Sister’ is our first song in almost 3 years. It's a song set to the backdrop of the 2021 COVID lockdowns and tells a very personal tale of loneliness, depression, and family. At a stage where helplessness had taken over and the end was near in my head, my little sister was there for me, took me in, and saved me in many ways. So the song is a tribute to her, to all those close to us who have been there when the days were dark, and a reminder that we don't have to and should never suffer in silence.

From the get go, we wanted to get a guest vocalist on the track to in many ways represent my sister singing alongside me. We recorded this track at the incredible Ranch Studios, where Creeper have recorded in the past and we were lucky enough that Hannah heard the song, liked it and agreed to come on board. We're huge fans, and it's come out better than we could have imagined, so stoked to have made it happen.”

”Little Sister” is out digitally now via Wiretap Records and Lockjaw Records. Burnt Tapes will be touring the US later this month. Check out the video and dates below!

Watch the new video by Autogramm!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by synth-driven power-poppers Autogramm! The video is for their new song "Plastic Punx" and was edited and animated by Jeffry Lee. Speaking about the song, the band said,

“It seemed like right up to the day we started recording this album it might never happen, but not even being divided by an international border (during a global pandemic!) could get in our way, and I think we can all say we are glad it didn’t. Like the song says, we’re all Plastic Punx. Not hardcore punks, anarcho punks, gutter punks, or squeegee punks, but Plastic Punx. The kinda punks that don’t give a fuck, especially about how much money we’re getting at the show- as long as the venue isn’t too far from the hotel, and the hotel is close to the skatepark and/or the beach.”

"Plastic Punx" is off Autogramm's upcoming album Music That Humans Can Play which will be out on November 17 via Stomp Records. Watch the video below!

Avem

Watch the new video by Avem!

Today we are super stoked to bring you the premiere of the new video by Southern Ontario-based bird-watching punks Avem! The video is for “Puffin Toss” which is the final track off their recently released EP Nerdin’ About Birdin’ which is out now via Mom’s Basement Records (which we spoke to Julian about earlier this year). Speaking about the song, the band said,

“‘Puffin Toss’ was inspired by the loss being felt across all of North America due to the public health crisis of addiction. It relates addiction to the true story of baby puffins (pufflings) being drawn to light pollution of cities and towns at night rather than following the moonlight to the ocean. These lost pufflings die without the intervention of humans, who toss them off the cliffs so they can safely make it out to the ocean. We wonder who is lucky, the puffling who made it out to the ocean unscathed, or the puffling who got the help it needed to survive. Or perhaps, everyone is just lucky to be alive.”

Avem will be touring the US with Booze and Glory starting later this month. The band will also be making stops at Mom’s Basement Fest and FEST in October. Watch the video below!

Simple Minded Symphony

Watch the new video by Simple Minded Symphony!

Today we are stoked to bring you the premiere of the new video by Washington-based ska band Simple Minded Symphony! The video was directed by bassist and vocalist Kevin Silveira and features art by @melonbobby. The song is called “Feather” and is off their upcoming self-titled album. Speaking to Punknews about the song, Kevin said,

”“I have worked a pretty flexible barista job for sometime now, full time to pay bills. When lockdown initially happened in 2020, hours were cut a ton. I was working 3 days out of the week with short shifts. I had so much free time - an artists dream, right? With all this free time, I thought I’d be exploding with creativity. This was not the case. I got tired, anxious, burnt out, days fused together in a blurry haze: I was in survival mode without realizing it. However, in the back of my head I was thinking ‘dude, you have all this free time! Go make art! What are you doing!?’

Later I learned that this was an engrained societal pressure to be ‘productive’ at all times. Feather is about the misplaced guilt I felt to be a ‘productive artist’ at a time when what I really needed, was rest.”

Simple Minded Symphony will be out everywhere on August 22 via Ska Punk International. The band will be premiering two more videos later this week, “Over It” on the 15th on Powered By Rock and “Overcast” on megawednesday hosted by Mega Infinity on Twitch on the 16th. Watch the video below!

Watch the new video by Achings!

Today, we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by Massachusetts/Pennsylvania-based rockers Achings! The video is for their song “Abdication, Planet Earth” and was created by Daniel Danger. Speaking to Punknews, lead vocalist Rebecca Joy said of the song and video,

"The song itself was actually the first we ever wrote together, and it was written just days before my daughter was born. What Daniel was attempting with the video was something of a stop motion Charles Peterson vibe, the photographer famous for capturing the early Sub Pop days with his slow exposure, kinetic black and white photography. Armed with a DSLR camera on a rolling tripod with handheld flashes and slowing shutter rates, we shot the video frame by frame with the day’s light changing as we went. The video is made up of over 2027 still frames.”

”Abdication, Planet Earth” is off Achings’ album All These Shapes, All These Days which was released earlier this month via Landland Colportage. Watch the video below!
