The ten finalists have been picked for Takeover Records's Sign My Band Contest. The bands are Big City Dreams, Crooked Edge, Daphne Loves Derby, Dorado Gold, Drake Equation, Limitpoint, Silhouette, Strike.Fire.Fall, The Commercials, and Underscore. Voting on pureVOLUME starts November 15th and if you would like to do so, you'll have to register at pureVOLUME's Listeners' Area. Each week bands will be eliminated until there are only two bands left to vote on during the last week. Only one vote per registered voter will be accepted each week. The winner will receive a release on Takeover Records, internet/radio promotion, clothing, complete merchandise overhaul, and a definite spot opening for Yellowcard sometime on their 2005 tour.

Haven't the Commercials been signed for awhile? Eh who cares...they're still probably better than all these bands. 2+ Replies

Did you vote for Kerry yet? Actually, I mean did you vote AGAINST Bush yet?

Daphne Loves Derby are awsome. they were #1 over huge bands on purevolume at one point, and are always in the top ten. Why havnt they been signed yet? Labels must be talking to them left and right.

Silhouette is a very VERY good band. myspace.com/silhouette . go check them out if you haven't already. i haven't seen them live, so I can't defend that aspect of their identity, but they write intricate, yet catchy tunes. They're the most worthy band to get signed out of the contenders. This should be a reality show. - Totally Unrelated - It seems belak, but GO KERRY!!!!!

if you are going to check out any of those bands check out Strike.Fire.Fall. There used to be this incredible local band around where I lived called Parkview, and when they broke up Strike.Fire.Fall rose up in the following year. Good rock music. And I'm out. t. tate | Features

That's actually a sweet break, except for being Yellowcard's opener.
