Lost City Angels set to release new album

Boston's Lost City Angels, who signed to Universal imprint Stay Gold Records late last year, will release their new album Broken World on April 4th through the imprint. The record was done at Camp Street Studios in Cambridge, MA, produced, mixed, and engineered by Sean Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie (The Pixies, Radiohead, Hole).

Broken World follows 2002's Nitro-released self-titled debut.

Never liked this band I saw them on NYE and they actually put on a decent show. Fast and energetic all over the stage. Ended the night with a pumping version of "Kickstart my Heart".

these fuckers are like brothers to me. i wasnt sure what the new album would sound like but when i heard the demos i damn near shat myself. if you think you've got this band figured out you are WAY fucking wrong. the last album was 2 dimensional in comparison. thick full sounding punk anthems as catchy as herpies at a whore house. You can't compare either of those bands to this band simply because Ron was in SHJ and NIck was in Pilfers. These guys are not a ska band what so ever. What you can do is compare yourself to a fuck stick and see what that does.

soundscan isn't really an accurate representation of a band this size. I mean, if they sell 25 copies at a VFW or some kid mailorders from them, soundscan doesn't find out about it.

wrong! bands fill out soundscan sheets at venues... these get filed under 'non-traditional' sales and are still added to the bands overall soundscan. as for mail-order and webstores... MOST do report their sales to Soundscan... soundscan is acuarate.. not exact.. but an acurate representaion of a band's record sales. lca suxx

I actually didn't get sent here by their myspace... I just know that I saw them open for The Living End here in Norfolk, Virginia.... the place was damn near empty and they really put on a really fucking good show. When I downloaded their stuff, some of it left a little to be desired, but they really are very good live. I talked to Duggan after the show and he was incredibly nice and awesome.... and I'm not just saying that. Good band.

seems like some people just get a little defensive when they hear someone talking shit about music and people admire. can you really blame them? isnt PUNK ROCK all about standing up for what you believe in? not all, or even the majority of LCA's fans are "tough scene kids." i've seen Lost City Angels at least 10 times... with some good bands too.. and they are always... ALWAYS the band that NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT!! they are 'that band' you gota sit thru before DKM, FM, Social D, etc.. i guess it's good to see they have some bros backing them up on here.. but i've seen LCA in Boston even.. and the KIDS JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THEM.. either way.. the new record should be interesting.. maybe MTVwill ram this shit down the throats of the brainless teens and these meatheads jock friends wont need to defend their precious LCA..
