The tour will commence in the Maritimes in mid March and head west from there. The bands are supporting their respective 2003 albums Reconstruction Site and Shine a Light. After a journey through the American southwest in late 2002, the two musical combos became friends and mutual admirers. Upon reuniting in the fall of 2004 for a show in Ottawa, thoughts turned to confederation and the expanses of Canada. Oh those large and beautiful expanses! A ridiculously ambitious tour was proposed, guided by the spirits of Festival Express and Rolling Thunder Revue. If only they could find a train with which to cross, they said! No train was found, no one they knew had one that's for sure, yet the idea was sound, the maps were true, and they decided to forge on.
Forward to The Rock! they said. To Cape Breton! To the great port of Halifax! Through New Brunswick and up the mighty St. Lawrence to the metropolises of upper Canada! Across the Canadian shield to Winnipeg and the great plains beyond! Through the Rockies and all the way across the straight of Georgia to Vancouver Island and the old city of Victoria! To be joined by their favourite Canadian bands along the way! They bring the tidings of rock and roll! They bring the dance of eager travel! They bring stories and song!

[thinking] Oh, glory of glories. Oh heavenly testament to the eternal majesty of God's creation. [out loud] Holy macaroni! This is awesome. I caught a show from this pairing last year and will do everything in my power to get to as many of these as is possible. The ongoing Weakerthans / Constantines camaraderie is officially one of the greatest rock-alliances of the modern day. So says I. -adam
