In The Red Records has announced some details on upcoming releases from the Ponys and the Dirtbombs.
The Ponys' Steve Albini produced follow up to 2004's acclaimed Laced With Romance will be titled Celebration Castle. The LP / CD should be available in April and the cover art can be seen now on the label's website. As previously announced the Ponys will be on tour this April with Bloc Party and have a song on the new Sunday Nights: The Songs of Junior Kimbrough tribute. In May In The Red will release a new Dirtbombs collection titled If You Don't Already Have A Look. The double CD set will contain 52 tracks culled from their single sides, compilation songs and other previously unheard material. It comes with a 24-page booklet of photos and liner notes by the band. In The Red Records (15 comments)

I think the Ponys are, truly, the most boring of the new wave/rock/punk/whatever acts that have popped up lately. Yes, I'm including all the shitty local bands that no one has ever heard of when I say this. The Ponys fucking blow. I don't really care for the Dirtbombs, either, but their covers record was really good. Maybe they should try and transfer that awesomeness to their own material. 1+ Reply
