Champion reissues on the way, latest tour dates

Bridge Nine has announced their plans to reissue the first two EPs from Seattle's Champion. The record, titled Time Slips Away will include both the Come Out Swinging and Count Our Numbers EPs which were released in 2001 and 2002.

The straight-edge hardcore band is headed to Japan, South Korea and Europe this week in support of Promises Kept.

I saw them open for 7 Seconds the other night, they gace shout outs to drinkers and SXE, these guys are cool in my book. (BTW, The bassist and drummer both had the 21+ mark on their hands, are they not SXE?)

I'm pretty sure the entire band is edge... they've just made a point to be a band that doesn't rip against those who attend their shows and are not.

If you like Champion you should check this new band also from the Northwest area called Sinking Ships. The lead singer of Sinking ships is the lead singer of Champion's little brother.They have an ep out. they are pretty rad. www.sinkingships.tk

They only played about 1 minute at the Philly show, one minute I did not see because I had stepped out to get a Snapple before they went on. After this one minute some asshole in the crowd started a fight with their roadie and they cancelled their set, and the entire show almost got cancelled but they insisted that 7 Seconds and Kill Your Idols still play. I think those two or maybe two other guys fought later on that night out in the hallway in front of the church as well, and someone told me a chair was used in this altercation. On the bright side 7 Seconds was mother fucking amazing!

I expected cliche hardcore when I went to the 7 seconds show last week, these guys are anything but! Good old school style stuff, I was certainly impressed, I smoked and drank during their set no one said shit to me!
