New songs from Blood Brothers side project Neon Blonde posted

Neon Blonde will be releasing their 11-song debut full-length through Dim Mak some time this coming summer. The band features Johnny Whitney and Mark Gajadhar of the Blood Brothers. You can check out two tracks from the record, "Headlines" and "Black Cactus Killer," here.

Soiled Doves (whom also included Johnny Whitney) had a song called "Black Cactus Choir". Interesting...

It's probably just the vocals, but this just sounds a lot like the Blood Brothers to me, but with a little more piano and a drum machine. Fans of the BB will like it, people who aren't fans won't.

I think it's funny that the band that is younger on average member wise (atleast I think so cause I think Jordan and Johnny are pushing 30) has the older drummer.

I read an interview in kerrang about the time BPIB came out saying that mark johhny and jordan were all 21/22, so they couldnt be more than about 24 now

A big part of me needs Jordan to balance his insane soprano out. But this could grow on me. These guys have the talent to make any weird sound work.

the vocals are way too similar to blood brothers for this to be a "side project" they should have mixed it up a bit - jones

it does seem kinda weird to slap a new name on the same sound that they've been making over the years...i just popped in crimes about 2 hrs ago and these two songs sound like they could have come straight off of that album.

because this "side project" sounds so familiar that if they had made it a new band they would have had to call themselves "blood brothers II" ...and wats with you throwing out weird profanities at the beginning and end of your posts? automatic fanbase fuckface just sounds so funny.

dude blood brothers vocals can get ULTRA annoying...plus...i mean they are kinda ripping off that one band anti something...and mike patton gots better screams than this. but blood brothers rocking songs got my approval.

blood brothers are one of the most inventive and intelligent bands that i've heard in years. neon blonde may not be too dissimlar from them but they still offer excellent songs and by doing it , theyre keepin BB alive. hoorah
