San Diego, CA based My American Heart has signed to Warcon Entertainment, the label founded by Kevin Lyman, co-founder of the Vans Warped Tour, and Bob Chiappardi, founder and CEO of Concrete Marketing.
The band recently performed at the Taste of Chaos tour with labelmates Bleed the Dream and Opiate for the Masses and will also be headed out on the upcoming Warped Tour this summer. They are currently in the studio with producer Sal Villanueva (Taking Back Sunday, Thursday) in New Jersey writing and recording for their debut full-length album which is tentatively scheduled for release this August. The band released a self-titled EP last May. You can stream the entirety of the My American Heart EP over at purevolume. Warcon Entertainment (84 comments)

Part of Kevin's bio: "Kevin is also known as a music industry authority on multiple corporate branding projects, acting as a consultant, production supervisor and branding guru to help companies maintain valuable street-level credibility that endears their products to the younger market." This all goes back to my earlier point: Warcon won't be a success unless it has mass marketable bands and My American Heart is not going to cut it. OC 3+ Replies

everyday on this site, someone posts, with regard to some band they dont like, "let's redir to news.org." in most cases, its just useless blather, but if it were submitted on this thread, i feel it would be wholly justified. this is absolute nonsense. chiappardi is like the maurice starr of the tardcore scene. ...this...five piece has been playing together for over three years, formerly under the name No Way Out(worst degredation of the adolescents ever)...a knack for writing songs that leave a listener humming[sic]the catchy chorues aloud... yes, theres no looking up what punk is or isnt, but im pretty sure music thats manufactured by corportions, like so much play-do, isnt a part of it. before any scabs fire back with shit about the sex pistols, save it. the pistols sucked too, and i wish john lydon would hurry up and go the sid vicious route. 5+ Replies

funny how the first thing i saw when i visited the site yesterday was the Ian MacKaye interview link . . . and today, the first thing that pops up is this. bit of a jarring contrast. can't wait to see what this sleazy, terrible "entertainment group" does to these fresh-faced kids and their awful, awful music. whoever made the maurice starr comparison was fucking right on . . . these are nothing but boy-bands. just from the standpoint of culture, of course, i'm interested to see how warcon's little experiment in manufacturing credibility turns out. i think they'll make a boatload of money real quick, only to leave all the artists completely fucked when the trend is dead. so it goes. on a sidenote, i hope the guys at warcon know that the only "extreme sport" this music makes me want to participate in is . . . beating the living shit out of My American Heart. 1+ Reply

the Bleed the Dream cd is good, the single is probably the worst song on the album.... the bonus dvd though is a piece of crap.

All you fuckers talking about how gay My American Heart is, lets see you try to get some decent songs into your life and have a shit load of fans loving your songs. I dont think you'll get anywhere, nor get a decent label. My American Heart is original, and all you mainstreamers can go back to hell where you came from. My American Heart is the best sound you'll ever get from CA. So lets talk about how good they are and how much you suck. 2+ Replies
