Our Oneida contest has ended. The three readers who will pick up a copy of the band's new record The Wedding along with their 2004 full length Secret Wars are:

The Wedding was released via Jagjaguwar in the US, Rough Trade in Europe and Three Gut in Canada. Thanks to the folks at Three Gut Records for the prizes.

If you want to alter your mental state why would you ever do it with alcohol? That is, unless you're brainwashed by the largest commercial entity in america. In that case drink on. Strawberry Fribbles are better than just about any other drink in the world. Including, just barely, Tang!.

I don't drink to "alter my mental state" nor do I see the issue in such black and white terms. I'm from an Italian family. We've always had wine around, we made it ourselves. On top of that I grew up in one of the better wine belts of the country and went to school amidst a hub of microbreweries that crafted some fantasic local beers. A nice drink, to me, is about sharing a social situation. Far less important is "getting drunk," which I very rarely do. If you don't drink that's perfectly alright, but don't put on your armchair revolutionary hat and start claiming it's about brainwashing or some sort of social justice nonsense. ...that being said, you'll have to explain Strawberry Fribbles to me. I haven't had the pleasure. -adam

Beer = Brainwashing. Just beer. You don't have to preach to the eye-tie choir here about wine. Trust me. Home drinking with dinner is different from drunk drinking up in "da" club or before a show etc etc. Friendly's Fribbles. Best things ever. Crooky and I will show you one day.
