Jeff Ott of defunct Bay Area act Fifteen will be releasing Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Real War on Terror on July 12th. The book aims to defend the argument that "there is an actual war on terror that has everything to do with the familial, business and governmental structure."
The book will also benefit the Debi Zuver Defense Fund and it is the follow up to My World. Fifteen released Lucky in 1999 and Survivor in 2000. Ott followed up the record will a solo release titled Will Work For Diapers in 2003. Subcity Records (38 comments)

Man i love some of this guys's muisc but how many times can the same shit be written on the "war on terror" there are already dozens of books about the same thing and for some reason he has to wrtie another when he has so much other shit he could wright about, the guy has done all sorts of things and does have a lot of talent. And yes I'm still pissed at Nike

i saw fifteen on the first take action tour back in 97 or 98. they might have been alright if 2 things had happened, 1: end the songs around the 3-4 minute mark and 2: shut the fuck up between songs and just play. the guy seriously spent twice as much time preaching as he did singing. if i wanted that i would have gone to church... as a side note i heard that the singer from telegraph/ the skolars got in a fist fight with ott while ott was naked on stage in the 92-93 time era. funny stuff

is ott the asshole that was distributing flyers about how nick traina (link 80) came from a rich family in order to discredit him and get him kicked out of the punk scene? what a sad, petty, pathetic man. 3+ Replies

There's a lot better writers who come from the punk rock than Ott. I'm really biased against this guy's work for personal reasons, but even hardcore fans have to admit that he's really didactic in print as well as live. For much more imaginative and enjoyable writing, read Dick Lucas "Right The Way Up" or any of his band lyrics (Subhumans, Culture Shock, Citizen Fish).
And yeah, what will this book add to the acres and acres of printed paper which already explore this subject? At least when Ott wrote about Food Not Bombs or his personal experience with rape he was dealing with subjects he knows intimately (pun intended) and subjects on which he has an interesting perspective.
That said, I ain't backing any of this- not his music, not his writing, nothing. All I back is him getting the back royalties Lookout owes him. Hopefully he's received whatever that was by now (he posted show rest of comment 1+ Reply

The first book was ok, but some parts were just stupid. I'll get this anyway, might be an decent read. Plus there could be another rape confession......
