no. crooko is right. its engineering. i am kind of a book nerd though..mostly scififantasy...but then some bohemian bullshit like kerouac and hunter s thompson..and basically all the stuff that people read to be "hip" - jones the bones

i dont understand the fascination with the beats. keroauc, maybe. but burroughs, hst, ginsburg? no thanks. i like to read to read, not to look cool to my peers. and frankly, most of the works of the beats make not a bit of sense. random words on a page do not make a great work of literature. "groundbreaking" or not, its still crap.

I don't think you can even put this in the same sentence with Kurt Vonnegut's name.

I read "Slapstick" recently and I thought it was pretty weak. Is all of his stuff like that?

Anyone who calls jeff ott a rapist is a fucking moron. You tell like 1/10th of the story by saying he raped someone. What the book says is that he (although he didnt know it at the time) raped a girl when he was 15. It was the first time he had ever had sex, and he was under the impression that what he did was okay. It wasnt until much later that he realized what he did was rape (years). This was a product of growing up in an abusive household where violence and force were commonplace. It also happened soon after he had ran away from home and was squatting in random houses, and just starting to get into speed and other drugs. Jeff Ott has made many mistakes in his life, but he has done nothing but try to correct those mistakes. The book also says that he contacted the girl, and apologized, and she accepted and they speak now. That book and the new one talk abo

You idiots need to stop looking at who the man used to be, and start looking at what he is doing TODAY.

Dear person who doesn't know what he's talking about, The book is not about the war on terror. It is about other things that people should be concerned with INSTEAD of the war on terror. Listen to the song 911 is Still a Joke from the acoustic album for a little brief example of what it is about. He only talks about things that are from personal experience, or connected to personal experience somehow. AIDS, child abuse, women's rights, drugs... This book is 100 times more coherent than his first book/comp. of zines.
