Deadline signs to SOS Records in USA; touring plans

SOS Records has signed UK-based punk rock act Deadline. The label will be releasing the band's People Like You Records full length Getting Serious this fall.

The female fronted act has released material with GMM Records and toured with Rancid, Dropkick Murphys and the Distillers. You can check out some material from the band on their myspace page.

These guys are waaaay overrated. The music is boring, one-dimensional, wannabe pop-punk. Heh, right before the album was released over here, the singer even grew out her skingirl haircut cuz they're so convinced they're gonna be big. Also, that way they don't have to keep answering questions about why they played at a right-wing skinhead pub a few years ago. And they didn't tour with Rancid, they played one show with them.

Funny how tastes & perceptions vary. I think they are among the best, most accomplished Punk bands today. Definitely as far as female fronted bands go. They're real, worked hard and I personally think their songwriting keeps getting better and better. Overrated? I don't think so... they'd blow any of your Distillers & co off the fuckin stage should they be given the opportunity. I am fortunate enough to live in the UK and I have seen them live at least a dozen times. They never fail to entertain and they have a hell of a following in London nowadays. Also got to know them a bit and they're the friendliest, most down to earth band around. Check out the live video clips they have on their website, the sound's shite but you can see what the hype's about. Sincerely, Tony.
