What are you doing right now? Nothing? Digesting dinner? Waiting for the Simpsons to start? Well a great use of your time would be to stream video of the Gorilla Biscuits set from CBGB. We're between sets right now and Black Train Jack just finished up, so fire up that stream now to check it out.

CBGB should put out another DVD of all these recorded "reunion" performances. I'd buy it just for Lifetime and Kid Dynamite, though Gorilla Biscuits would certainly be a bonus.

listen i just got back from cb's....it was insane. as soon as the horn intro played people were stepping on each other and hanging from the ceiling. everybody fell i dont know how they fit so many people in there.gb was tight as hell. oh yeah and some water maybe urine was leaking from a pipe in the ceiling. best show ever. civ spit them lyrics out like fuckin hot fire. new york fucking owns you. -bruce

Right, but I really hesitate in calling it a flop. No, it didn't go gold or anything, but it wasn't like RCA spent millions and millions on them to make them huge, and got nothing in return. The last Crazytown CD... now that's a flop!

I call it a flop because: A. - They got dropped. Obviously, it didn't sell anywhere near what it was expected to. 2. - For me, it was such a departure from their sound (I know they changed a lot) that it made me lose all interest in them. They didn't even sound like the same band.

Personally I find Antenna to be their best album. The sequencing is a bit hazardous in the sense that the first five songs are very accesible while the remaining 7 (while amazing songs in their own right) are longer, and less immediately engaging. Hell I even love the b-sides for that album. Apparently it vexed the band greatly making it. Huge budget, lots of time, and an unsatisfying first mix leading them to remix all the songs save for "Beautiful Son" When the album was released (to RAVE reviews) we had to- by company policy play it the record store I worked at, and I always lost interest after the fifth song. After a couple of years of playing my vinyl copy of it, getting high and playing guitar along with the album, I became the Cave In adict I am today. I've been a working musician for over a decade now and Antenna isn't exactly a record that your average

Yeah everyone has their vice and mine is Cave In. I love everything they have ever done. I consider their main songwriter to be up there with the elite. Sickboi-I was dissapointed by the dvd length of the Cheap Shots Youth Anthem's comp, but all in all I'm hard pressed to find a better band of that genre than Kd, I met Jason during the fat tour with Nmb, nice dude, his mic checks are beyond cool. Crooks-this is not an attempt to make ill of this situation, I would really honestly like to know of some records that you have enjoyed this year. I think I saw your scrobbler list a while back so I may have an idea already.... Oh yeah I have a Cave In collection going, which includes magazine articles, ads in magazines, vinyl, import cd's, demo's, bootlegs. Yeah I'm obsessed Barkley

I loved Paradise and Above the City but that chorus in the first single off the last System of Down record ruined that band for me for the rest of eternity. I'm sorry, the song had some really strong elements like the shrieking vocals and tempo, but that sunny part is just wrong. However, I loved the video of the week you did with Smoke or Fire sickboi, it really made their stuff come alive for me. Barkley

I hated that song at firstb but it really grew on me. I think they put it in their to fuck with people. Think about it. The first single, somone happens to come across it while scanning radio stations. "Wow, this is really catchy" Then BAM. That crazy assualt hits them, not to mention the anti-war message that you don't normally find on clear channel radio.

Comeback Kid? No way. It had some great songs and some boring ones. Kinda sounded like With Honor but not as good. Against Me isn't out, but i prefer every band i listed to them anyhows. And Smoke Or Fire was pretty good, but not great. Honest mistake on the 7 Seconds though.

7 Seconds is album of the year. I've heard the Against Me! Its good, not as good as Cavalier, but still amazing. The Comeback Kid album is amazing. Not just standard hardcore, they actually used other elements and influences.

dude like I said a few months ago, I saw the bosstones open Lollapoolooza 96' I think it was, and I was high on Mushrooms for the first time and high or not THEY KILLED IT. I was in awe, the sound was pristine, the brass was perfect in the mix and the delivery of the songs was flawless. I don't own an album by them nor do I really care to, but that was one hell of a half hour. The Boredoms played after and they were great too, I was too young to understand them tho and perhaps a tad high. Barkley
