What sucks is their not seeking a replacement. I loved the cello, it helped define the Cursive sound. I would have rather lost the organ.

I didn't even know they were still together what the fuck is up with cursive are they ever going to put out another album or tour?

On a side note... why is W.A.S.P. on the "today's shows" thing?? What the fuck?

ha, i remember seeing this band in DC and Gretta almost got in a fist fight with some douche bag up front who kept throwing stuff. they stopped mid-song and she got up in his face and stuff. it was awesome. if you can listen to "domestica" and "the ugly organ" and honestly say that this band is not amazing, and that tim kasher is pure genius, your ears need to be chopped off.

This is kind of a bummer, because the cello really added to it, but some of you are forgetting that Cursive made some very good music without her. Go listen to Domestica again if you forgot. I'm a little surprised by how much apathy or dislike there is for this band here. Ah well.

This still sucks, but I like Domestica better than the albums WITH the cello. How this will effect their sound, eh.

so far...cursive has written better songs when they didn't have a cello. not to say that all the songs with gretta were bad, but who knows maybe they'll bounce back with out the cello.

No replacement? Cello is fucking needed on some of those Ugly Organ tunes, this is not a wise choice. Oh boy...

that's really really shitty... she added a really awesome element to the band. but i don't doubt that Tim will still write some pretty fucking awesome songs without her. tim kasher is a fucking genius.. the guy writes amazing music. praise tim kasher.

Let's not forget that Gretta did indeed also have some grade A, New York bewbs.

Gretta also played cello on the Cursive / Eastern Youth split CD "8 Teeth To Eat You" Those were some of her best songs with Cursive.

Sure, Gretta added to the band, of course. But Cursive has been great without and with her. It's just a matter of which was better... and to me, without her the music was better. Sure, she definitely did well... but Tim obviously wanted to sound more rock and alternative than have a little classical in it. And I think that's a good choice to match his lyrics and the way he sings. As long as they don't lose anyone else, they'll still be great.
