Tom Delonge of Blink-182 recently announced his new project, Angels and Airwaves. Delonge, who played guitar in the band has apparently been working on the band for the past six months while the group is on an indefinite hiatus.

Little has been revealed except a cryptic posting on blink182.com with with Tom saying:

I love my fans, and I promise, I will not let you down. The music that we all grew to charish that was made, not only will continue, but it will be much, much better. All I can say is hold on, and prepare…

On the band's myspace page, Delonge had posted the following which has since been deleted (according to mtv.com)

It is so much more powerful, emotional and melodic than Box Car and Blink put together, that I am currently sh---ing my pants, You all must know, I didn't want Blink to go on hiatus, but it had to … you all will learn why … soon.

A "major announcement" is expected in the coming weeks, according to Geffen, the band's label.

Blink-182 will release Greatest Hits on November 1st. They released their last record, Blink-182 in 2003.
