Gearhead Records has signed the Lords Of Altamont, an act they're calling "the best garage band in California." The label will release their new 11 song full length Lords Have Mercy on November 15th. A European release by Fargo Records is expected on October 31st at well. The album will feature liner notes by Michael Davis of the MC5 (which Gearhead's ever colorful press release states is "pretty much the equivalent of Jesus coming off the cross to give these LA-based bad boys the ultimate thumbs up"). You can download the single "Action" now.

On the topic of football, go USC! And the Giants deserved to lose against the Cowboys. How are you not going to capitalize on your opponents' turnovers? Ramo

unofficial video of the week: http://www.whiteyhouston.com/Video/WH-live.wmv A friend of mine forward this to me. They sound pretty cool, I think they are called Whitey Housten or some shit. The first song is cool, the second one alright. I don't know who editted it, but they got a little too cut happy near the end, but it's a decent video for a band I've never heard of before. | Features
