Thrice, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Story Of The Year, Funeral For A Friend added to Taste of Chaos 2006

More bands have been confirmed for 2006's Taste of Chaos Tour. Joining previously announced headliners, The Deftones will be As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Thrice, and Story of the Year.

The first half of the tour will feature Funeral for a Friend. It is expected to begin in mid-February, with dates running through the first week of April..

The Taste of Chaos tour, organized by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman will soon complete their first year of shows. The inaugural bill included The Used, My Chemical Romance, Killswitch Engage, and Senses Fail. The European edition of the tour will begin shortly.

Hahaha You've got to be kidding me, man. I don't wear $200 jeans (I barely wear jeans at all), and I've never worn make-up (sans a first grade play). My favorite bands (as of right now, anyway) are Against Me!, The Unlovables, The Bouncing Souls, Operation Ivy and A Wilhelm Scream (among a bunch of others)... but I am pretty fucking far from a scenester. I just make the most out of shows, unless they are really really shitty (ie: Riddlin' Kids).

Objectively, Though it's missing the amazing draw power of the inaugural headliners (say what you will but The Used and MCR are bigger than The Deftones) I'd say the line up is much solider than last years. It seems they pulled good sized acts all the way through. Still I'd probably hit my own balls before I'd see this show. Hey what happened, I though everyone here loved Thrice, where did the love go? -Dante WHORE! Tuesday I'm interviewing Western Addiction and I was curious if anyone had any questions they'd like to asks Fat's first band of their new signing spree (see: Love Equals Death, The Loved ones and The Sainte Cathrines). Than how come the last two times The Deftones played the SJSU event center it didn't sell out and the Last Taste of Chaos did? As did the last time The Used and MCR played there seperatly (So I believe this could be wrong but not highly likely). So that's three sold out shows to none. I'd say around here they certainly are bigger. -Dante

i stopped reading when you said the used and mcr are bigger than the deftones. the deftones were on one of the first couple warped tours, has released 4 soon to be five amazing studio albums and has headlined more tours than mcr and the used combined. nigga please.

Not saying The Deftones haven't had an amazing history or that they won't have a better legacy. I'm not really a fan of either but objectively it's a fucking fact. MCR and The Used sell more tickets to shows right now. The last two shows the played (seperately) at the SJSU event center both sold out, as did the last Taste of Chaos. Alternatively niether time the Deftones played at the Event Center has it sold out (that includes the time Incubus opened). So, factually MCR and The Used are a bigger draw thanThe Deftones. That could vary between locations, though. The Used/MCR might sell out a venue in a particular area/city, but not another. The same applies for Deftones.

True. I was at Taste Of Chaos in Melbourne, Australia the other day. The Used did Maybe Memories as their encore after fucking around for 40 minutes and basically wasting their entire set time. Half way through Maybe Memories, they changed the tone and tempo and broke into New Noise. They did 2 verses and 2 choruses. The good thing was that they didnt completely fuck it up, and it actually sounded half decent.

I havent heard enough AILD to comment on them but Atreyu and Funeral For A Friend sound nothing alike. If youre going to try to make TOC out to be a tour where every band sounds the same, you should try to pick 2 bands that actually sound remotely similar.

i saw as i lay dying open for slipknot last week(left when they started so i could ctch matt pond pa elsewhere). as i lay is one of the better metal bands around right now. just my opinion though. could really do without the rest of these bands though. at least we have as i lay, madball and a life once lost playing here in december

I just don't get it. I really don't. The Deftones, Thrice, maaaybe As I Lay Dying... but Atreyu is horrible, and Story of the Year should be a joke. This tour is poorly planned considering it isn't even including the bands that are selling well right now (which is normally Lyman's focus right?), nor is it containing an awesome or quasi-awesome lineup. Judging from the last tour, I would have assumed the show would be "screamo" and like one metal band like Killswitch Engage was last year. Maybe these were the only bands they could get because The Deftones could use the promotion to fans that probably aren't going for them, Thrice is always touring, Atreyu is losing fans (I assume), Story of the Year is losing fans (I can predict), and As I Lay Dying... well I just don't know. What I do know is I won't be going, because I have already seen Thrice, and don't feel like wasting t

I'd love to see Thrice and Deftones,,, maybe someothers,,, but then again some i could do without.... but hey if you wanna go for only one band go for it.... i was just at Big day out... and all i wanted to see was mudvayne and The Mars Volta... and it was the greatest day ever.... shit i want to see thrice live... it makes there music so much better....
