Tours: Billy Bragg touring the UK

Billy Bragg has announced a small UK tour preceding his trip to the USA to support his upcoming reissues. The long running folk/punk musician will also be performing at this year's SXSW.

The Hope Not Hate Tour will be sponsored by the following unions and political campaigns: Amicus, GMB, RMT, T&G, Unison, The Left Field, Love Music Hate Racism, Searchlight, and Unite Against Fascism.

He's not punk. He is folk. Just cuz Lars covered one of his songs doesen't make him punk. That said, he is incredible and I pray he comes to Boston.

Why don't you enlighten us and explain what exactly the "philosophy" of punk is. Is it Hegelian? Or just plain post-Kantian? Idiot.

Nobody cares what is and isn't punk anymore man, most of us already realised that it's completely subjective and open to individual interpretation. If you define punk as a sound, Billy Bragg isn't punk, if you define it as a mindset or attitude, he probably is. The argument could go on forever and there'd never be a clear winner.
