This is the second high break-up of a high profile Underground Operations band in recent months, as the label's flagship act Closet Monster played their final show in December. After being chewed up and spit out by the big bad music industry, this fragile little band has decided it's time for us to move on. It was fun, but it's not anymore. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way – especially any and all fans we may have accumulated throughout the last 5 years...
We can tell you though, that you will hear from us again. We're going to take some time with any and all new projects, and get back to the reason why we started a band in the first place: to make music and have fun doing it.
Also, permission permitting from the powers that be, we hope to put up the entire 'shake your body politic' record on the internet for your free downloading pleasure. Consider it our parting gift...
Brampton, Ontario's Bombs Over Providence have called it quits. The band, which has been working out of Toronto, recently released the full length Shake Your Body Politic on Underground Operations. Excerpted from the announcement on their MySpace page:

I'm normally not very interested in that whole crop of suburban Ontario political punk bands, as often the rhetoric far outweighs the songwriting and there's far too much of a nouveau-emo-meets-Anti-Flag vibe going around, but "Shake Your Body Politic" was a decent record. I was hoping to catch these guys again. Oh well. -adam 2+ Replies

Why is it always 5 years? For the past few break-ups it has been. 3+ Replies

this band blew me away the first time i saw them, their second show, opening for catch 22, in toronto. the band took a change of pace once erik left the band, but i still enjoyed them. shall be missed.

Underground Operations had two good bands. This band and Closet Monster. I hate to say it, because I really respect London and the crew working there, but once Protest the Hero gets signed to a major (Which will probably be relatively soon), the label will have to pack it in. It's a shame, really. 2+ Replies
