New tracks from Ellison, the first band signed to Carbon Copy (Hawthorne Heights)

Ellison, one of the first bands signed to Hawthorne Heights vocalist JT Woodruff label, Carbon Copy Media, have released some new material culled from their upcoming EP, Indecisive and Halfhearted.

You can check them out on the band's myspace page.

Woodruff enlisted the aid of Mark Daily who ran Confined Records to join him in running the label which also recently obtained distribution through Victory along with an upstream pact which allows Victory to pull successful Carbon Copy acts into Victory's roster.

look real hard there are some good bands in cincy. for example defrost star,ampline,covington,alone at 3 a.m. oh yeah there are shitty ones like cookie cutter bands like a the unoriginal scallywagon,krinj etc

believe me, i know there are good bands here. i'm friends with them. Alone at 3 a.m. is the best band in the city, but i also think it's high time the Black Tie Bombers get signed. and Team Stray may not be very good, but they are the greatest band in the universe. -phdecontrol

I know this will sound mean, but Team Stray is incredibly bad. Paralegal Punani or whatever is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I saw them at a show hoping to like them but God, it was just so so bad. The Black Tie Bombers, on the other hand, deserve more attention.

You like the Pinstripes? That's fucking awesome, man. I have a couple Pinstripes songs (my favorite is "Fast Food Economy") and I think they'd be a blast to see live. Do they still play together, or have many shows?

they go to college all around the midwest, i personally know them, they are going on a tour this summer and if you check their myspace they usually play the poison room downtown......but all around the country this summer...their shows are always fun and a good time!!!

yeah, but Team Stray KNOW they're bad. they're so bad that they're good. and quite possibly some of the funniest and nicest guys i've ever met. they alone are the one band i was referring to when i said that bands in cincinnati suck "with style". and besides, i honestly don't think they're THAT bad at all. i really like them. -phdecontrol

i know everyone here hates this band despite them being huge. Do you guys have the record or is all the dislike based on going to their shows and seeing them suck Or watching a lot of MTV2 an seeing that one song they have out that saves the day wrote? i only know that one song. Gun didnt know i was loaded. Paint it Black is better than Kid Dynamite

I had to review the album for a college station when it first came out. I actually listened to it more than a dozen times in a week. Not because I liked it but because I would instantly forget what it sounded like. Nothing about this band stands out to me at all. I don't hate them, I just can't understand how anyone could like them. I've heard..."Ohio" and "Nikki FM(?)" on the radio and shit but I still only know a few lines from them (like the singer yelling "ohio"). They just don't stick out for shit. And the singer looks mad retarded like Corky being overcharged on his phone bill. -Dante

I'm not sure if I'd want the dingleberry who ran Confined Records to help me run my label. Looking at their site they have info on none of their bands, a merch store that sells three albums (two of which are Hawthorne Hieghts old band), a show calander that hasn't been updated since at least December and all the visual appeal of the recieving end of a money shot. Yup...I expect nothing but good things from Carbon Copy Media...Of course I also keep expecting the Globetrotters to lose. -Dante

Have Death in Graceland been playing many shows recently? I know they played a couple with Sadaharu in the past few years, but I haven't heard much from them these days. Great band though.

YES. If: 1) You get drunk 2) You bring a big strong friend of yours to fight off the jocks there with their girlfriends that will be trying to kick your ass after you... 3) Heckle the band the entire show. Emphasize their female apparel, being a cheap imitation of goth, and tell the skinny ones to go eat a sandwich/dick sandwich.

Mitch from Ellison here... Just to clear things up, "Indecisive and Halfhearted" was our DIY independent release. It is nothing new. The songs on our myspace are off that old EP. The full-length due out on Carbon Copy Media early summer is not titled as of yet or even finished recorded!
