Blondie Greatest Hits to be released

Recent hall of fame inductees, Blondie, will be releasing a CD+DVD package on March 7th titled Greatest Hits: Sound and Vision. The collection will include 20 audio tracks and 16 videos, including a "mashup" of "Rapture" with the Doors' "Rider on the Storm" which will be featured as both an audio track and video.

You can check out the mashup "Rapture Riders" in a number of formats: Windows Media (56), Windows Media (100), Real (56), Real (100).

Blondie already released a greatest hits (or two) and 50% of it already sucked. Blondie only had a handful of good songs and they don't need to be repackaged, remaster and rereleased every god damn year so Debra Hary (er, whatever) can keep playing rockstar in her head. And the concept of a "mash up" with those songs makes my mind hurt. Jim would be rolling in his grave if he wasn't dead as shit. -Dante

agreed on both accounts although it goes without saying how they started and how they ended up were different stories. but then again, they were always the poppiest of the NY scene so their evolution (or de-evolution if you will) was somewhat predictable. didn't hurt that debbie harry was a total fox.

blondie pretty much started out that way. they were like the kids that wanted to be disco, but they couldn't get the right outfits and afford the expesnive drugs so they hung out with all the scummy punkers.

Its all about Ziggy Stardust!! Aladdin Sane was awesome as well. I think his other best album is the ever-underappreciated "Scary Monsters". I'm suprised no metalcore bands ever remade the song from that album "Its No Game" as it could easily be remade to fit that sound. Oh yeah, "The Man Who Sold The orld" was one of the best early metal albums from the time period. It was well ahead of its time. Can you tell I'm an old Bowie fan? :-)
