"Overrated" is a shitty song. It's almost as bad as "She's Gonna Break Soon", the all time worst Less Than Jake song to date. "A Still Life Franchise" decent. -ZACK

A Still Life Franchise was the only decent one. The rest of the songs were slow and boring. So much for returning to the days of Hello Rockview. This is shaping up to be as disappointing as the new Anti-Flag record.

Overrated is 1985 by Bowling For Soup. Less Than Jake officially sucks now.

"Overrated (Everything Is)": Eh? If I didn't already know this was LTJ, I don't think I would recognize them. Reminds me of that one Bowling for Soup song. Not good. "A Still Life Franchise": Okay, there's some horns and upstrokes, that's better. The tone is a little too dramatic. I'm reminded of parts of Anthem. Organ's kinda cool. Really not digging this chorus, though. "The Rest of My Life": Boring. I stopped it halfway through. Maybe the bridge is totally amazing and I missed it. Oh well. Overall? Vinnie's lyrics are more or less up to par, but the production is way too mainstream. I'm suddenly not psyched to hear the rest of this at all. I guess I can hope they saved all the good stuff for B Is for B-Sides Vol. II. =P

Ok, I could write a dissertation on my history with Less Than Jake and how these songs make me feel and all that, but I'm not gonna. Suffice it to say that my original inkling to get drunk tonight has become a goddamn certainty. "Having sex is overrated"? What the hell is that? This is LTJ without the excitement, or the urgency, or the fun, or the anything. It sounds like they're just playing to be the safe "edgy" music that parents can feel good about letting their kids listen to. Which is fine I guess, but it's a piece of my musical autobiography that's gone the way of the buffallo. I'm with Johnny Quest on this one. I'm off to listen to Hello Rockview and softly weep.

A Still Life Franchise is superb, one of the most "ska" sounding songs they've done in a long time. I might even say there are some two-tone influences in there. The Rest of My Life is pretty good. The guitar has sort of a surf rock feel for some reason, I'm kind of digging that. Lyrics are a little bit cheesy, but it's a different sound from anything they've done before. Overrated...eh, I think they are pressured to have a couple radio friendly pop-punk songs. Lyrically it's very good, though. If this is the "She's Gonna Break Soon" of Anthem, this album will be quite good overall. Maybe not Hello Rockview, but it's sounding damn fine so far.

This is definitely the Less Than Jake attempt at being more mature. It is a different sound for them and it isn't horrible but I'm not that into right now. I'm sure once the new album come's up it will eventually grow on me though. - Rehasher need to do some more touring and also need to put out another album.

A Still Life Franchise sounds like Eve 6. Overrated is self explanatory. This band changed my life. But that doesn't mean that just cause i'll buy it on the day it comes out that I have to like it.

I probably wont download these since LTJ are my favourite band of all time. They played Overated on their massive set list. I thought it was catchy. They really like it alot since Chris mentioned he would only play old songs once they got Overated done. Fuck you to all who think they are soft and sucky. Go see them live on tour. They still have a edge and can throw together an hour and 15 minutes of pure sweet LTJ magic. I cant wait till the EP comes out.

Alright, I like "Borders and Boundaries." For some reason I even bought "Anthem." But these songs are awful. Maybe I'll pick this up if I find it in the $2.50 bin at Record Exchange, but I can't justify paying full price for a second shitty LTJ record in a row.

I am a big fan of Less Than Jake and I really thought that all these songs were really good. But get some horns! It's not Less Than Jake without them. Overrated really rocks. Rest Of My Life sounds really different and cool. Kind of reminded me of "Escape From the A-Bomb House". A Still Life Franchise was pretty good. Could have been a little better but overrall I really liked them. Can't wait for the EP and then the album. A Still Life Franchise sounds like somethign Ska-P would do...Moreover, it sounds kinda like Ska-P's Planeta Eskoria. In other words, its awesome. The new songs are great, and I'm getting this album when it gets released.

Lighten up. Ones of these songs will be played on the radio, so these are the songs best suited for radio play. So before we go calling Less Than Jake sellouts, listen to a couple "meant for radio" songs (History of a Boring Town, Look What Happened) and then listen to a couple other songs (Last One Out of Liberty City, Suburban Myth) and tell me you don't hear a difference. The other songs have more energy and were on the same album as the "pop" hits. Less Than Jake has always wrote good songs with a couple "cheesy" songs that would have a chance to get on the radio and make some noise. Just the way the Music Biz works.

Meh. "Overrated" is what it is. I've heard worst garbage on the radio. At least they're trying to play ska on "Still Life Franchise." "The Rest of My Life" is a complete piece of shit. I could pick out three lame songs to freak myself out from each of their last couple albums, so I'm gonna keep an open mind. For some reason though, the album cover makes me think of Goldfinger's "Open Your Eyes" which is not a good thing. Not at all.

Overrated: Catchy song, but not genius (except the bassline, that rocks, but you can hardly hear it) A Still Life Franchise: This is a great "Losing Streak"ish song. Kind of a let down from the studio recording though. Was expecting it to be a little more upbeat, harder and fast". Rest of My Life: This song is currently battling Look What Happened as the greatest LTJ song to date. Their biggest departure from their sound, but one of their best. I am really pumped for this record. Should be one of their best yet. And for people saying the horns aren't audible enoguh, remember that these are probably not the final mixes.

The old stuff is without a doubt better. Despite the new sound on the new songs, theres no doubt the record wont be good. It's LTJ, they find a way to rock. But would someone tell JR and Buddy that you can't hear the horns. Do they enjoy having half-ass too soft horn parts. I would think they'd like to be heard on their cd. Turn up the horns man. ltj rocks, pumped for new album.
