Ian MacKaye, founder of Dischord Records
and member of the punk acts Fugazi, Minor Threat and The
Evens will be speaking at 200 Kaufman Hall on the campus of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA on March 6th, 2006 at 7:00pm.
The pioneering musician has titled the discussion: The Dischord Records Story: A Model of Sustainability - Q and A with Ian MacKaye and the event is free and open to the public. MacKaye is no stranger to the college speaking circuit, having previously visited schools like Yale University to speak. Ian continues to support the 2005 release of The Evens, which followed the hiatus of his influential band Fugazi. In related news, as recently reported, Dischord will be releasing ten new live albums in the ongoing Fugazi Live Series. Dischord Records (74 comments)

has anyone seen him speak? was it worth it? i've had mixed results in seeing musicians speak. chuck d was awesome. rollins was funny, but not much more than that. and jello was kind of boring and didn't say much. 4+ Replies

Does he even have a DEGREE? If not, he's a poser and has no place in an academic setting. Fugazi is too mainstream to be intelligent anyway. -Will 7+ Replies

Thats way too far away for a Monday night, although I'd love to see him speak at some point.
