The Bronx have set a release date for their upcoming self-titled full length for Island Records debut. The album is the followup to their (also) self titled debut LP.

The album has been set for release on June 6th, 2006, which is turning into a remarkably popular release date for the less religiously inclined acts.

I love The Bronx but I really worry about this album. The flaws, rawness and attitude were a huge part in why I loved their debut. I worry that I may not like it as much if it's all polished and filtered. Hopefully they were allowed some creative control through Island. -Dante

First off, when they announced they wrapped recording they issued this: Social Club started right about the time we figured out that making big long expensive records for big time labels isn't as much fun as it might seem; not really the good time, easy-does-it roll in the hay its cracked up to be And as they didn't self record/produce the last album I'm not sure they did it on this album. Esspecially considering I haven't heard word one about it. Besides self producing and recording doesn't ensure that Island executives weren't breathing down their necks. -Dante

'june 1st marks the date that the bronx will head into a studio in venice and begin tracking 12 or so tunes (out of the 30 that have been written) with matt and joby's fathers at the knobs, swapping stories about 'nam. again, strictly all analog, and again, nothing digital about this bad boy. in the past 4 months we have learned and mastered the art of both kinds of music, country and western, and both styles are shaping up nicely! should be released, well, who knows that either. Read the guy below the initial post who comments that they had to re-record the deal a couple of times. Simply because a record label gives you some slack in regards to recording the album doesn't mean they won't bitch when it comes to the final product. As they said in the quote regarding their social club project, they had a few issues in the recording process. All you need to to is relax homie. -Dante

from everything i've heard (from people that know them that i know) they've had to redo the record a couple of times, which is pretty shitty. however, they played a few new songs on their recent tour that sounded pretty great. matt and joby's dad's are mxiing it so there shoudl be some of that rawness left. we'll see, i still have high hopes.

you do now the Bronx were on Island when they recorded and relased the first record..Island let them go somewhere else to release it to build cred..this album was recorded in an even less glamourous fashion then the last..anyone hear new stuff yet? The social club seven inches"? they are fucking great..and yes the artwork blows..

based on the fact that the album cover is possibly the shittiest looking piece of art i've ever seen, i'm pretty sure this bronx record will own. it's like they tried to make the lamest cover possible. i love it.
