yeah, but the reissue of the hsape of punk to come was pretty rad. i think the # of reissues that are good is greater than the # of remixes that are, as far as ratios go. it's certainly close. some reissues (rise against - the unraveling, green day - 39/smooth) add a lot to the sound. some are lame as fuck, but a lot of remixes are just trash.

Slade has nothing on Frank Giramata. Hands down the most annoying person ever. He's just tate jr, straight up, but more obnoxious. He thinks he knows everything about the music business, but confesses that the only work he has done is a few weeks of interning. There's some good people on the ap.net staff though, it's just that those 2 douches black them all out.

I never understand these comments. They're not sellouts, selling out implies changing your musical style/trend hopping/abandoning your original fans to become the next big thing. They play pop punk, a genre which has been in for a pretty long time. Their goal from the start was to be huge, so when they make it, its not like some gigantic surprise. You can not like them for what they are, I'm defending the music itself, but they never "sold out".

Pete Wentz always says that their "real label" is fueled by ramen, even though it's well-known that Island worked out the deal with fueled by ramen. I wasn't aware of the straight edge bit. But eh, I have a hard time getting after him too much for it because 1. sXe is retarded to begin with, so he is better off this way and 2. 97% of all straight edgers give up the edge. Just because Wentz was stupid enough to get a tattoo while he was super into it doesn't mean he sold out more, he just lacked foresight. The second point, again I'm not so sure. It's not like FOB went from hardcore to pop punk. I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt. I personally used to listen to lots of hardcore, then I got bored of it and listen to other things, pop punk included. If I happened to play in bands during both of these phases, does that mean I sold out? Not really. By the same logic, you could say Loved Ones sold out.
