Barsuk signs Smoosh

Smoosh have signed with Barsuk Records. The keyboard/drum duo consists of two young women, ages 12 and 14. They will be releasing Free To Stay on June 20th. They'll be touring with the Eels prior to the release date.

i know they're just little girls, but how can you take anybody seriously when they have a name that generic. if there are 9000 other bands with that name, i think there's a problem.

I remember a radio interview with Ben Gibbard a couple of years back (a few months before Transatlantacism was released) and he mentioned how impressed he was with Smoosh and amazed at their talent for their age.

It looks like the saying is still true. The kids are alright.
