Blood Brothers to release single/EP

The Blood Brothers have announced plans to release a new EP. Titled Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck, the disc is due out May 23rd, 2006 and will include an exclusive live version of the title track recorded at the band's Reading Festival performance last summer. It will also feature an alternate version of "Crimes" and a remix of the Crimes track "Peacock Skeleton With Crooked Feathers," featuring additional vocals by Sean Reveron from A Gun Called Tension. Additionally, the EP will include the two UK b-sides from the "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck" single as well as the band's remix of the seminal Gang of Four track "Anthrax."

As reported earlier, the band recently entered the studio with producer Guy Picciotto, co-vocalist of legendary Washington D.C. band Fugazi, and producer of recent albums from The Gossip and Blonde Redhead. Sharing the production duties with Guy will be John Goodmanson, a veteran producer responsible for records from a diverse range of acts from Death Cab for Cutie to Sleater-Kinney. Goodmanson also co-produced Crimes along with the band themselves.

Their upcoming release follows 2004's Crimes.

kind of a pointless EP, with a couple of those tracks like the Gang of Four remix available elsewhere already. i don't hate the Blood Brothers though.

I never listened to Crimes....

I really enjoyed Burn Piano Island, Burn but was told this was nothing like it...anyone?

its not 'nothing' like it. its a llittle less spazzy.less..harsh I guess. I thought it was a little weirder,and dancier. its really alot better,but most 'scene kids' think its worse.

I was dissapointed with Crimes. I don't know why they would re-release this just for one single. Crimes had its moments but it wasn't even close to Burn Piano Island Burn. But it is still better than most.

Seems kind of pointless. The album was released two years ago, and those b-sides that leaked with it were all pretty bad.

I just wanted everyone to know I just bs the warp tour survey

I have only snowboarded a few times and dont even own one but I put I did and i put i own goggles when i dont,I dont even own boots or bindings but i put i did, oh well if i go to warp tour for free and go backstages to meet rise against anti-flag nofx and the pro skaters and bmxers than making up owning a burton board was all worth it

now if it was about skateboarding that every question would have been the truth

Uhm...Not to shit on anyones scene parade, but "love" doesn't ryhme with "hideous car wreck". It does ryhme with dove, shove, above, and of. But not "hideous car wreck". Really people talk about how advanced this band is but they can't even ryhme... I'm unimpressed (which they probably also think rhymes with "love").

Wow. I get why they chose this. That song on that set was absolutley amazing. It's not my favorite blood brothers song, but it was certainly the best song on that set, and possibly the best moment of the whole festival.
