not really. i mean, "dear you" is a work of sheer brilliance and i respect the influence the band has had, but i missed the boat when they were around and now i don't really love them. i don't dislike them, but it's sort of like nirvana - a hugely influential band that i was just out of the loop on. instead of nirvana, i got in via green day, and instead of jawbreaker, i listen to the larry arms.

You just broke my brain, colin. I listened to Nirvana today, and I totally agree with you on that one. If they didn't blow your mind when they were around and they basically ended hair metal, it doesn't carry the same weight (though I would never slight a band as influential as them).
But Dear You holds up today. I didn't hear Dear You until Fall/Winter 2000. I actually got it AFTER I already owned two Jets To Brazil albums. I got into it because of the bands I listened to that were influenced by it. But, for whatever reason, it absolutely changed my perception of music. The album is brilliant, and I recommend listening to it until it clicks, because it will be well worth it. I know you said Dear You is brilliant, but to dismiss them as more important in their time, rather than a timless band, is a mistake you shouldn't make.
If there was one album, ever, that I could snap my fingers and make appear in everyone's collection, it would be Dear You. It's the kind of record that I buy for people if they don't h

I don't love them either, except i don't really like them that much. Dear You had a few good tracks, 24 Hour is incredibly overrated.

Biovauc, with better production, would have been pretty good. Unfun was decent as well.

They may have influenced bands (many bad ones), i've never bought the hype.

Because there is no "hidden track". The last track is called "Unlisted Track", despite its being listed on the cover. I'm assuming that's what you mean.

Dear You is by far their best album, followed by 24 Hour.

But the best song they ever wrote, despite the bad production, is "Chesterfield King".

I'm sure it does. There are a lot of Jawbreaker fans much more insane than I who collect live bootlegs. Go to the message boards at blackballrecords.com to look. If you ask, I'm sure someone will tell you how to find it if it exists.
