Between the Buried and Me confirms details for covers disc

Experimental Victory metal act Between the Buried and Me have revealed more details about their upcoming CD of covers titled The Anatomy Of.

The band plans to pay tribute to many of their influences which comprise a diverse number of acts, from Faith No More, Pantera, Metallica, Depeche Mode, and Smashing Pumpkins and a handful of others.

I'm actually really interesting in hearing BTBAM's take on these; they're a remarkably talented bunch of musicians and the songs they picked are all pretty good.

this band blows, and cover albums are usually just bullshit anyway, they're often used to finish up contracts with labels.

THIS BAND HAS GOT WAY!!!More talent than any other metalcore bands out today..they are bout the only good band on Victory besides Comeback Kid and Darkest Hour...and Evergreen Terrace can suck my big one

I'm 120% confident that Streetlight Manifesto is the best band on Victory. well, at least at the moment. with the looks of each of their sophmore albums, I'd say Streetlight and BTBAM are both joining the "get the fuck out of a contract with this shitty label" bandwagon. heh.

as far as I'm concerned, Streetlight and With Honor are the only bands on VR worth a shit. BTBAM is just more of the same.

I'd say Relapse is more akin to Pantera.

i've listened to enough pantera. but i'm willing to bet if you look at the average promo shot of a vicotry band you would see

A. four skinnie dudes with black t-shirts and one chubby dude in a track jacket (not that there's anything wrong with that, i'm a fatty)

B. two pairs of sambas.

C. three zelda haircuts, one army hat, and one dude with something else

D one dude in either a pantera, slayer, or iron maiden t-shirt (yeah i know the're all different bands)

E. one dude in either a depeche mode or a cure t-shirt

therefore pantera + depeche mode = the ingredient to victory's success.

I think the opening 10 seconds of "By Demons By Driven" are probably the most ripped off sound among metalcore bands at least. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazingly intense little riff but it's pretty much the foundation of a lot of the lesser bands in the genre.

I agree, but that riff and pretty much all of "Walk" is what those shitty bands are using. Compared to the rest of what Pantera did, there are not many other similarities.

this will probably be better than the Evergreen Terrace one, not sure if this will be that good though, BTBAM is awful.

Earth Crisis' first album, Destroy the Machines is amazing; nothing they did since then was quite as incredible, but that one album was really something special.

They almost lost me with the Motley Crue cover but got me back with picking one of my favorite Soundgarden songs. Definitely want to hear this album now.

i read in an interview that they love the counting crows. even siting them as an influence.
i always found that to be awesome. i loved that band growing up.
