Reel Big Fish plans 3-disc live release

Label-free ska/punk act Reel Big Fish have announced a 3-Disc Live Album/DVD set for release on July 18th digitally and August 1st via retail.

The three-disc set titled, Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album, will be released through traditional retail outlets on August 1st via CD Baby's/Ryko. Rock Ridge Music (Kittie, Stroke 9) will be releasing the album digitally on July 18th. The first two discs will feature several live tracks recorded at various RBF shows around the country, while the second will be a live concert DVD that was shot last winter at The Alley in Fullerton, CA.

The band is gearing up for a summer tour in support of their final Jive Records full length, We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy.. For some of frontman Aaron Barrett's thoughts on the band's status and more, you can check out a recent interview.

After the tour, the band will also release a 6-song CD split with Pennsylvania's Zolof The Rock and Roll Destroyer on Reignition Records.

They've got an awesome live show, but I've got a question: How do you release a DVD digitally? You could put the video files up for download, but that seems like it would be a ridiculously huge file if it has anywhere near DVD-quality video.

I was a bit let down when I saw them on the Cheer Up tour (or whatever that album was called). Everyone seemed to be having fun except for Aaron who looked like he hated life.
