Justin: Like Dillinger Four? Like the Lawrence Arms? If so, skip all this blather and go listen. Minneapolis has a few secrets stuck up it's sleeve yet and it appears that Banner Pilot is one of them. You know what? I don't think I need to say anything else. They sound like the best mixture of northern midwestern punk and indie rock that you can imagine. Do it. PUNKnews and all that, right? They have a new album, Pass The Poison, out now. Buy that.

Brian: Down for a band recalling early Saves the Day with healthy doses of melodic hardcore and mid-`90s emo? Yeah, me too. These songs don't really do justice how quickly they've developed according to their live show, but Long Island's the Agent played their first show only about a month ago and their songwriting talents are already admirable right now. There is so much potential here it's disgusting. Both songs are taken from a demo the band recently cut.

I'm very weary of cluttering up my Myspace list with requests from bands. I ritualistically become delete-happy when my list becomes full of random bands I will forget about.

Banner Pilot has sent me multiple requests in the past and I always saw potential in their music but for some reason, I was always afraid that I would approve the request and then delete them when I got too claustrophobic looking at my list.

Anyway, they rock and I see enormous potential for them. They'll probably be an up and coming band in the next few years. And yes, I am a huge Myspace geek. Shove it.

there's a setting that allows you to block bands from sending you friend requests

I know that but there's always the odd band that I'll add and become a huge fan of. Sometimes, I get requests from bands that I was a fan of in the first place, so that's why I don't put that setting in effect.

banner pilot - never heard owt by them but this is great!!!!

best mp3 of the week in yonks (lets face it most have been shite or not even punk)

however - if it wasn't for mp3 of the week i'd never have heard A Wilhelm Scream, Latterman and Teenage Bottlerocket so fair play!!!!

You don't even know the half of it...

I've been on crutches for a week and a half and thought I was getting off them once the stitches were out...but apparently it may be another 2 weeks before the crutches go bye bye. Add that to relationship problems and I just needed a vacation from life for a night.

It's nearly 3pm and I'm not even close to recovered....

i recorded the agent demo songs up there... we never really mixed them so the sound quality is lacking but they are fucking awesome live.... check em out!

i'm pretty sure the agent is going to be one of the biggest bands of 2008. i've seen them live and this mp3 doesn't do them justice. i'm placing my money on this band.
