AAA was horrible. as overhyped as it was they should've taken the time to turn out a decent product. 24 hour roadside resistance was one of the best records of the year when it was released, this record came out to be generic punk.

i'd say my biggest disappointments thus far are:

angels and airwaves (just because i loved tom and wanted to believe he'd make a decent record)
afi (it's just crap)
taking back sunday (they said it would be different and it wasn't)

for the most part this has been a banner year for really strong releases. those three have let me down, even though i wasn't expecting much to begin with. i'm a tad worried about brand new, but other than that, '06 is shaping up nicely.

I can understand why people may be turned off from "Vheissu," but, man, that was my second favorite record released last year, behind "Potemkin City Limits." I love the melodies, the lyrical structure, and the instrumentation on the record. Plus, they didn't release "The Illusion of Safety Part 2" or "The Artist in the Ambulance Part 2," which I really admire. I can't stand bands that keep rehashing old material (*cough* PENNYWISE *cough*), and the reason AFI is my favorite band is because they keep reinventing themselves with each release (and, although I've only listened to it twice, that single off of "decemberunderground" has me a bit worried).

So far this year I'm disappointed with Bigwig's "Reclamation" and Against All Authority's "The Restoration of Chaos and Order."

It's kind of hard to be disappointed by a band that sucks already. Anarchist ska? That's about as lame as watching a Mr. Rogers auction on the Home Shopping Network.

yeah. for a pop album it's alright. but it's not afi. and if any other band had put it out, i wouldn't have given it a second chance. i enjoyed sing the sorrow, my favorite is probably art of drowning... but this is just not afi.

Is it really that bad? I have not been to excited about their singles off of the album so far. I'd probably give my Disappointment of the Year award so far to Thursday. I really don't like Thursday's new album. It's like a toned-down version of themselves.

i don't know what made me go more nuts, the Beltran shot or that absolute GOLFING the Reyes laid down. i keep seeing it and just being amazed.

for what it's worth, Madson gets my utmost respect and pity. he went out there like a fucking man and played his heart out. i'm glad we won, but i'll never forget that effort, and it's damn hard for me to say that about a Phillie.

i just want this 'rivalry' shit to be over, after the weekend with the Yanks and now this, just gimme the Nats this weekend and the D-Backs next week so i can get back to enjoying baseball and not having a 5 hour and 22 minutes heart attack.

The Phils and Mets better do something this year, because Atlanta will probably be even better next year and Florida's got a good young lineup and will be dangerous if they get any pitching whatsoever. I heard a rumor the other day about Dontrelle going to the Mets, have you heard anything about it? At this point I'm not sure I'd even want Dontrelle, you'd have to give up a shitload of prospects and he isn't pitching well at all. I guess giving up pitching prospects to Florida teams is probably a touchy subject in New York right now anyway...

Did you watch any of the ESPN day game today? I only caught a few innings, but Radke looked awful. I'm not sure what's wrong with him this year. His ERA's up around 7.50 and hitters are hitting over .360 against him.

Speaking of teams getting off to hot starts, the Tigers just need to go .500 to win 90 games this year. Of course the Phillies could have had Leyland last year, but he wanted to get rid of Burrell and Abreu, so we got Uncle Charlie instead.

Thus far, the Indians have the highest team batting average and score the most runs in the AL, maybe all of MLB, I'm not sure. In the 6th, I think it was, Radke had the bases loaded with nobody out and got second baseman Ronnie Belliard to ground into a double play, but the Indians had some timely two out hitting and scored an additional two runs. I admit my bias, but I'd give credit to the Indians offense instead of blaming Radke.

I heard on the telecast that Kyle Lohse got sent down to AAA...ridiculous...

Although it sorta sucks shelling out an extra 2-5 dollars for a shirt that would sell for $10 just a few years ago, overall I have no problem doing it because I know that third world laborers weren't exploited in the process. At almost every show I've been to for the past year and a half, maybe two years, the bands have all sold their shirts for those prices.

They're so good. There's a layer of crunchy chocolate on top of the ice cream (which you can have one solid flavor or split it between chocolate and vanilla) with a thin little bit of whipped cream at the top. We always get the biggest one possible so that there are a ton of leftovers.

As long as either the cake or the ice cream has some chocolate in it (mint chip qualifies). Yellow cake and vanilla is a misleading crime against humanity.
