That song is obviously told from the point of view of a character. I guess Steinbeck was a racist too?

Axl Rose may or may not be a racist/homophobe/jerk/dummy, but there's really no way to know either way as far as that song is concerned.

pick up their first record. is fucking balls to the wall rock and roll. a little bit of the stooges, a little bit of hardcore. raw and engergetic. seriously its that good.

They remind me of the first New Bomb Turks records; and that record is just classic hardcore punk/rock'n'roll madness.

if you can find it all you really need is the "bats" ep. both full lengths are just those same 3 songs over and over again pretty much. they are great live though

Even if you don't like their message, you have to admit that Lydon's lyrics (including Sex Pistols and PiL) are fucking insightful. Axl Rose was pretty open about just writing crappy ballads.

Yeah, they both revel in pissing people off, but John Lydon is articulate and often times makes funny (if not true) points. Axl Rose just sounds like the useless burnout that he is and always has been.
