Contests: Warped Tour Compilations

To celebrate the recent release of their 9th annual Warped Tour compilation, SideOneDummy has opted to give one lucky winner a full set of the comps.

From the first year with 25 tracks including contributions from Bad Religion, Strung Out, NOFX and more through their 2006 edition which boasts 51 songs from 50 bands, there is quite a lot of music from the long-running punk rock touring festival here.

The Prizes

5 Grand Prize Winners will receive:

1 set of Warped Tour compilations from 1998 through 2006

What's the point when you can purchase all of these compilations together for under $25?

Perhaps even less than that?

A better contest for SideOneDummy would be to give away MxPx and The Casualties for the benefit of the label.

From Half.Com, minus shipping, you can purchase SIX of the Nine compilations for a whopping total of $8.47.

So, let's say the remaining three compilations are around $5 total. Add together the shipping and you're still looking at a price ranger under $25.

But the main question is who listens to these things anymore? Just download the decent tracks and save your money for something worthwhile.

Call me a cock but this contest seems totally uninteresting to me. I know in a week all I would have are nine new pieces of pastic that I never plan to listen to. But then again I never really liked many comps.
Still, it's probably a pretty awesome prize for some lucky kid out there.

You can see the steady decline of awesomeness to suck. The live one from 2000 was pretty cool, and the '99 version was one of the first punk rock CDs I ever bought. I've been meaning to pick up the 2001 one for about five years, so i'll enter just win that. There's some great unreleased songs on that one.

i went to college in boulder, close to there. its fucking beautiful there. it may be kind of slow but its definetly breathtaking. that's how punk i am.

i somehow aquired a copy of the 05 one, there's like, maybe 5 or six songs on there that are worth while,
but i'll still enter,
theres some bosstones tracks on the earlier ones

All you people that whine about the comps being crap and its not a worthwhile contest, why did you bother to open up the bulletin and take the time to read it and post reply's?? I don't get it. If you don't want to enter the contest then don't. Its really that simple.
