Saosin plans October release

Saosin have announced a release date for their long-awaited debut for Capitol Records. The band will be releasing their album on October 17th, and they continue to work on the record with producer Howard Benson.

Prior to the release, the band will be spending much of the summer on the Warped Tour; joining the bill on June 30th and remaining with the tour until July 16th.

The album will be the follow up to Translating The Name which was released in 2003 with former vocalist - and current Circa Survive frontman - Anthony Green.

Their first singer left for Circa Survive and the band couldn't come up with a record for like 3 years. It's like a screamo Chinese Democracy. Some scene kid just wet his pants.

That said, I don't get why people think this is special.

It's the Open Hand curse. They thought they could escape it by just quitting Open Hand, but it's untreatable and uncurable. I expect at least three member changes before the album after this one, if it ever gets made at all.

"translating the name" is one of the best "screamo" records i have ever heard. im not a huge fan of a lot of these kinds of bands, but the said album is pretty incredible.

i agree, i generally hate the genre, but they did a damn fine job. i wasn't as pleased with the saosin self-titled ep, but translating the name was excellent.

but no one cares what you fuckers think. this is the comments section on punknews. there's practically a sign at the door that says 'you must be at least this immature and narrow-minded to ride.'

in the spirit of no one caring what you (and now i) think, i'm actually kinda excited. those last couple of eps and that track on the take action comp were kinda awesome.

correction, the saosin self titled ep came out last. so hence, it would be a follow up to that. and wow, they're real cool, can't even stay on warped long enough to come to pittsburgh. goddamn. can't wait for the new stuff though, i have both ep's. i want a full length damnit, and it better not suck, or i'll be pissed.

i love how this band got famous and a record deal and thousands of fans without releasing anything more than an ep. mmm music industry.
