Beware - Duvall!

"From AlkalineTrio.com, it has been stated that former A3 [and Smoking Popes -Scott] drummer Mike Felumlee has got together with former Smoking Popes vocalist Josh Caterer and Tom Daily to form a new band called DUVALL. The site said to look for something in the future."
This is wonderful news, as Josh is an incredible singer, and the Smoking Popes are pretty much the soundtrack to my oh-so-pathetic lovelife. It also looks like Josh got over his Jesus kick, which is always a good thing...

I'm not in any way religious, but hey, if he was into jesus, more power to him, faith is a good thing, be it in god, punk, hardcore, skateboarding... Whatever, don't bag, its not cool......

I'd have to agree here. People can get involved in a lot worse things then Jesus. I'm not a religious freak, but I am religious and I wouldn't mind hearing songs with religious overtones in punk music. More so then all this crap rap with killing people. Anyway it's good to hear that there is a semi-popes reunion.

i believe punks could be christian but i do not believe in christian punks... basically if you are a band and you sing about positive shit and you have a positive msg that is one thing but NO SINGLE MESSAGE SHOULD EVER BE YOUR BAND!!! it is just too limited if all your songs are about god

Exactly, why are people always bagging on others for believing in God after? Aren't punk people supposed to be open towards others and let them live the way they want, just like how they live how they want?

The news that was posted was not completly accurate. There was a couple changes in the lineup. Josh and Mike are now joined by John Sewell of Kidsnack and not Tom Daily. Also Eli Caterer of Smoking Popes fame is joining Duvall at the end of next month. And Josh has not ended his christian kick, Duvall is in fact a christian band. Don't let that frighten you though, Josh doesn't beat it into our heads. Eric http://www.smokingpopes.net
