Frenzal Rhomb wrap up album

Australia's Frenzal Rhomb wrapped up their next full length. The band had this to say:

And there you have it. Album finished. 10 days, 27 songs. That's 2.7 songs a day. about 4 hours per song. That rules. Friday was indeed party day, as the photos below will attest. We also did an audio commentary for the DVD that's gonna come out sooner or later. Cheers to Mick and Uncle Bruz for the humourous (and possibly defamatory) assistance. We start mixing in about a coupla weeks.

The band previously released Sans Souci and since then, two members - Jay and the Doctor - took to the airwaves as the new hosts of Triple J's breakfast show.

I figure this place is as good as any to post part of my Warped Tour recap. If you have a last.fm account, it's at http://www.last.fm/group/punknews/forum/18179/_/129743, but for everyone who doesn't...

"Warped Tour in Dallas was yesterday and even though I wasn't expecting much (aside from The Souls and Against Me!), it was pretty incredible overall. Granted, it was only my third (I only started going to shows in 2004), but it was a time I don't think will really be surpassed in the future (such as the other Warped I'm planning on seeing in Jersey). Even though I didn't get nearly as much free shit as I did last year, it was great.

I'm surprised NOFX played "The Decline" at Warped Tour. It sounds like a fun set. Good review.

Yeah, they had already planned a setlist which had a bunch of other songs on it, but they threw it out after they announced they were stopping.

Also, I just noticed I copied and pasted twice. Strange.

I only saw a few songs, but they were incredible as usual, especially since they were playing to a hometown crowd.

I know they played "Rent Is Due," "The Art Of Getting Fucked" and "Hey! Hey! Hey!"

Yeah, the Gamblers' lead singer (who is one of my very favorite frontmen) climbed part of the stage and then made a big jump off. He also did his usual antics of running into the crowd and finding someone who seems sort of bored by their performance and singing directly to them (or borrowing their shades).

I caught Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts, Soundtrack To My Life (I think that's what's it's called, it's new), Overrated, Plastic Cup Politics, and Look What Happened (opener), with probably at least couple more in there I am forgetting.

I wasn't a huge fan of Sans Souci. It was good but not amazing.
However, all they need to do is match the greatness of "Russel Crowe's Band is a Fuckin' Pile of Shit" to make me interested in the album.

For reasons unexplainable Frenzal Rhomb were my favourite band for a few years in high school. Not So Tough Now, Meet the Family and Man's Not A Camel are all great albums but Shut Your Mouth was much too hit-and-miss. Sans Souci was a bit better simply for returning to the shorter, poppier songs that made Meet the Family great, but I don't know if I need another mediocre Frenzal Rhomb album.

san souci was an awesome album. my favourite frenzal album to date. Worlds Fuckdest Cunt has to be the BEST drinking Song EVER! seeing them play that live after 15 schooners is that much fuckin fun.
