Media: The Bronx stream new album

The Bronx have posted a full-album stream of their upcoming self-titled album, due out July 18th. The stream is on the band's Myspace page. The album is the followup to their (also) self titled debut LP and is due out July 18th.

The band is heading out on tour with bands like Lifetime, the Loved Ones and Architects to support the album.

It's a good album. Some really good songs, some real bummers.
The big shock to me was that I really love "Around the Horn", which I originally thought was one of the most mediocre songs on the album. That song just lives in my brain.

Fucking awesome!!! I love this band so much, and I got worried after seeing them all over myspace for the past few weeks...so glad this album fucking thrashes...goes to prove that you can't sign a bunch mutherfuking rock n' roll cokeheads to a a major and expect marketable teen fluff bullshit...see them live you'll have a good time...more bronx, less bullshit needed in the music world right now.

Let me re-phrase........I liked their early songs...but now with this exposure they are going to become increasingly less-confrontational and, with a larger audience, we can pretty much forget about small scale club shows...which is what made old school hardcore shows so intense. Go watch Samhain live and then go watch Danzig live......both are great but the arena/large venue setting for Danzig really sucks the energy out of the show, where as a small, confrontational atmosphere creates more intense music (ie Samhain). Just an example....there are many. When bands get big they tend to lose their edge...sorry, it's a fact. If millions of teeny boppers like a band chances are it isn't all that dangerous anymore.

I know it's not really like that in the US, but in the UK Amen had a bigger teenarmy than good charlotte, seriously, they were enormous. They headlined brixton at their peak.

If you think the Bronx are actually going to get popular enough that they aren't going to be playing in smaller venues, you are a fool. The mainstream is NOT going to make these guys huge, as much as I'd like to see it happen.

i was just thinking the same. thier style of punk/ hardcore won't break the mainstream. they won't be played on mainstream or even alternative radio, which admittedly isn't really needed in this day and age for a band to break but they are too abrasive for johnny on the street to get into. i'm willing to bet they don't get bigger than medium sized clubs, much like dillinger or tiger army. there is a glass ceiling for those types of bands, sucks but its true

They're not going to get big and play bigger venues on their own.
The Danzig Smahain thing doesnt work since the music was VERY different. You're talking metal/hardcore/punk vs ACDC.

I usually agree with almost everything you say, but that was kinda bonehead statement. So fucking what if they get big? Enjoy them, or move on. You can't keep a band in your back pocket forever and get pissed when they blow up. To be honest, I don't really care for the new album.

If you like older Bronx, check out Dead Hearts. They sound a lot like them. Well to me anyways.

This album is great. I am happy they can release something that sounds almost nothing like their previous album but yet still sound exactly like themselves.

wow i guess i'm missing something because i thought this was decent at best...i won't give up on it yet though

they were however pretty forgettable live...i had hoped for more

nevertheless, if this is what 13 and 14 year myspace kids are listening to then that's a good thing because they could do a whole lot worse....and judging by the groups of young kids with their parents in front of me in line when i was going into the Lifetime show it looks like that's pretty accurate

Saw them last night it was fucking nuts, I probly shouldn't be at work. I heard some iffy things about there live show and some of my friends who had seen them earlier this year said they were just good live whihc kinda made me worried. However, they tore shit up.
