Less Than Jake outlines headlining tour, Japan, Australia, UK plans

Less Than Jake have announced that following the Warped Tour and their upcoming European trek, the band will be embarking on the Circus of Outcasts and Idiots tour.

Kicking off on September 20th, the bill will include Catch 22, The Loved Ones and New Mexican Disaster Squad on one leg, followed by a second leg with Set Your Goals replacing NMDS. After that, the band is headed to Australia with A Wilhelm Scream.

Also in the works are a trip to Japan, and a UK tour with the Dropkick Murphys in November.

Drummer and FBR co-owner Vinnie continues to update his blog as the band tours, with his latest entries including a summary of the Warped Tour thus far:

Screaming is for metal bands and drinking is for punk bands and making sure youre never alone with your priest is for christian bands.

The whirlwind of touring follows the bands recently released In With The Out Crowd.

Did they play any old stuff? I haven't liked a record by them in years and last Warped I saw them on, they didn't play anything older than Hello Rockview. I don't want to sound like a grumpy old punk, but I wanna hear stuff from PezCore and Losing Streak and maybe a little bit of Borders and Bounderies.

If I recall correctly, when I was at Warped Tour the only song from Pezcore or Losing Streak they played was "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts."

At the Warped tour stop in Fresno, I saw them play Johnny Quest, My Own Flag, Doug Hastings, Automatic along with Overrated, Soundtrack To My Life, Science of Selling Yourself Short, Short Fuse Burning, Ghosts of You and Me and I forget if anything else. They were fucking awesome. And as I long time listener, I have to say that I enjoy the new cd.....less ska, but catchy as the rest of their discography.

they were so lame yesterday... one of the members would not let go of the fact that they were going to hold a "Clit Pit" during the last song (a circle pit of all girls). He would say it after every fucking song, and it wouldnt have bothered me if it was in fact funny, but it wasnt at all.

they played sugar in your gas tank, johnny quest, and closed with my very own flag in San Francisco. My very own flag was worth everything else I had to sit through that day.

way better than last time they played warped where they played NOTHING from Losing Streak and played all their singles from BAB and beyond. Zzzzz

I hate go generalize, but most thinking people and real punks don't like underoath at all. From the warped tours I went to, it seems like underoath is really good at attracting teenage kids who want to look like they are rebelling against society, when they really don't want to upset their parents or pastor. Most bands on the tour seem to see through that bullshit devotion and the hypocracy (and homophobia) behind it all. It's Christian Rock trying to come into the punk scene

The amount of intolerance on this board is incredible. There are more people on this bulletin board who bash Christians using the word "fag" than the supposed homophobes that they are trying to put down. I don't see the word "fag" used so much anywhere else on the internet. It's downright amazing that the people who think that they are fighting for tolerance, peace and freedom are so willing to use generalized blanket statements against people because of religious faith and still be so hypocritical as to finish their post saying something to the extent of "Go suck a dick you homo".
Christians in this day and age can very easily get on your nerves, what with the election results being so influenced by the evangelical movement. Actually, the Orlando warped date date was one of the best LTJ sets I've heard in a dew years, at least they mixed old and new, instead of trying to cater solely to the younger fans in the crowd.

I'm still astounded at how terrible the newest CD is. I mean I didn't expect much, but it really sounds like it was written, recorded and produced by a bunch of 15 year old kids whose biggest influences are Mest and Punchline.

exactly. and it's not like i even particularly mind the lack of horns and ska. the thing is though that the songs are so lazily written. even if you judge it by the standard of how it sounds compared to anthem and b&b this album is just not good. and it doesn't help that everything's so overproduced the vocals don't sound human (though i didn't like the hello rockview production all that much either, but the songs were so good it didn't matter).

The last album was decent (and definitely well-produced), and sold pretty well, and it was on the same label.

I don't see where the label would have told them "hey Less Than Jake, make the worst album you've ever done and see if it sells better than the last one."

I was quite worried that their set at Warped San Fran was going to be lame, filled with a lot of the music off of the new album but they put it together and played a lot of older stuff that made me pretty happy...

Although "In With The Out Crowd" is a terrible fucking record (save 2 songs), they should did put together a kick-ass fuckin' tour.
Less Than Jake, Catch 22, The Loved Ones, and New Mexican Disaster Squad? I'm fuckin' going.

The last time I think LTJ put a good tour together was like six years ago: LTJ, The Suicide Machines, One Man Army, Pollen.

I've seen this band, what, four times and they've been good each. I'd definitely check out that tour if I got an opportunity if only for the openers.
