Blood Brothers confirm "Young Machetes" details

The Blood Brothers have announced some more details about ther upcoming album. The band recently set an October 10th release date for their upcoming fifth album, Young Machetes. The album is the follow up to 2004's Crimes and in the intervening time, members of the band also released Chandeliers in the Savannah and the Headlines single under the name Neon Blonde, as well as the eponymous EP from Head Wound City.

As reported earlier, the band recently entered the studio with producer Guy Picciotto, co-vocalist of legendary Washington D.C. band Fugazi, and producer of recent albums from The Gossip and Blonde Redhead. Sharing the production duties with Guy will be John Goodmanson, a veteran producer responsible for records from a diverse range of acts from Death Cab for Cutie to Sleater-Kinney. Goodmanson also co-produced Crimes along with the band themselves.

The band will be supporting the album with a Fall tour alongside Texas-based band And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Dates are expected soon.

i hated these guys the first time i saw them, i think opening for cadillac blindside or something. then i tried listening to the record and hated them more. somehow they ended up growing on me though. still haven't figure that one out.

Same here. I bought BPIB based on the review here and hated the shit out of it (I think I made it about halfway through track 3 before I took it out). And yet, I kept coming back to it. It wasn't until I saw them live with Against Me! that I actually became a fan. Now they're one of my favorite bands. Hopefully this new one is more like Crimes than BPIB. I saw them a few months back and they played 3 new songs and they sounded like they could have been on Crimes, so we'll just have to wait and see.

let me just say im jealous you got to see caddillac blindside, but i was the same when i first hear BPIB i wasnt really into it then it seemed like over night it just grew on me and these guys have been amazing ever since.

cadillac used to play here all the time, always a show in detroit and then a couple of days either before or after in toledo so i used to go to both. i keep hoping that the cardinal sin will start getting into that sort of touring but they have only been through twice so far.

They lost their interesting appeal with Crimes. They should give it up, cause theyll beat this horse till it feels like a quiznos prime rib. Oh so tender.

I used to be a staunch quiznos supporter, but times have changed. in my opinion, it seems like they had an emotional breakdown when subway started toasting.

this is based on several quiznos in california

first, the toasting never seems to be right, i have gotten numerous untoasted but warm subs (i have to fucking microwave/toaster oven them at home), and even gotten one that was so fucking burnt the bread was black and the guy tried to act like it was the most normal sub in the world

second, fucking expensive

third, its not that good of quality, the only redeeming quality to any of their subs is to smother that delicious hot sauce on it ( i think its like a batch # sauce or something)

fourth, they are so fucking goddamned cheap with that sauce. in some it is no longer near the peppers and stuff but behind the cou

I know where you're coming from. Luckily, the Quiznos I frequent most often is super busy at lunch time, so if they burn/undercook any sandwiches, chances are they do it to several and get several complaints. And this particular one is very liberal with the amount of sauce they put on their sandwiches.

But I've been to several Quiznos just like you described. You just have to track down the good ones.

finally some new blood brothers, i liked crimes , but burn piano island burn is just amazing. and this tour had better come to so cal. ive never seen trail of dead but want to and last time i saw the blood brothers its was mind blowing.

I really don't see any new information in this post aside from the fact The Blood Brothers confirm the news... otherwise, it's exactly the same as the one that was posted a few weeks ago. So, in response, I'm posting what I did in topic that announced the name of the album (which, I love, by the way).

There's a live video for what I assume is the song "Set Fire To The Face On Fire" floating around. It's pretty damn catchy and has a neat little keyboard bridge.

last week in denver, i saw a drunk guy get hit by a van, he got up, continued on, and then was hit head-on by a bicyclist. UNTIL i read about this album, that was the dumbest shit i had ever seen. that has all changed now.

Never in my life have I been more hyped for a record. Which means I'm pretty much set up for the letdown of the century, because if it's not perfect it won't come even near to living up to my expectations.

DenBez, I couldn't agree with you more, but I'm positive that The Blood Brothers will not let us down. Besides, even if the new album completely blew, I'd still be pumped just to see them live again. They won't come my way unless they're on an all-out tour.

And, yes, "eponymous" is another way of saying "self-titled."
