Fuzzy (justin) (July 26, 2006)

This song is like sex in my ears.

Fuzzy (justin) (July 26, 2006)

Like, the hottest sex ever. With Adam's mom.

Dante3000 (rich) (July 26, 2006)

That's strange, you always complain when I try to have sex with your ears.
-Dante

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

you're such a fucking trollip.

RedScare (July 26, 2006)

Club sandwich with avacado and pepperjack cheese.

mattp330 (July 27, 2006)

no one broke up sucka

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

SPIN?

I'm sure this is a joke

Someone (July 26, 2006)

That shit sounds better than, dare I say, the lawrence arms. Fuckin good. Does Andriano write some songs too?

vjonnyv (July 26, 2006)

I'm also interested to know Andriano's musical influence on the band... better than TLA? Nah...

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

He's supposed to be singing some songs on this record.

I hope he bought you rothes

MonkeyFracas (July 27, 2006)

lol....aww
I can laugh and still love Dan.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

yes, good topic for discussion. haven't been blown away by dan's alk3 songs lately, but he is magical with the falcon.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

Seriously? I think Dan just keeps getting better.

mcgregor107 (July 26, 2006)

bitch, please..

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

yup. all of the EP songs are at least as good as almost any Arms song. and this song gives me really high hopes for the rest of the album.

___waltz (July 27, 2006)

I wouldn't go that far, but I'm glad they don't sound exactly like the songs on the EP, because I felt they were too much like the songs on 'Oh! Calcutta!'

antonehenry (July 27, 2006)

but "oh! calcutta!" was like sex with an 8 year old girl dipped in honey, and after you came pure gold.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

finally!!

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

Awesome. I predict...hmm...247 comments.

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

i like this band but they ruin the larry arms for me

Someone (July 26, 2006)

oh man, how do you mean? it's like being a mormon, you can have multiple lovers.

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

haha

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

some of the songs on oh calcutta sound like falcon songs. it just really annoys me. i think the bands should sound as different as possible, although this new one is kinda different

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

I think Brendan ruined the Lawrence Arms for me on Oh! Calcutta!.

I don't know, sounded too much like the Falcon EP and Chris kind of took a backseat to Brendan's influence.

but you already knew that

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

ah, but if there were no falcon, you wouldn't be bothered as much by brendan on oh calcutta...

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

true, but I still dig the style both of them had on TGSET.

best album ever, that one is

colin (July 26, 2006)

best larry arms album for sure

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

I'd still go with ever, but yeah mos def the best larrys album

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

well, since larrys = best band ever, that would have to be the best album ever (by transitive property)

colin (July 26, 2006)

it's in my top ten, but i'd put clarity, insomniac, and pinkerton above it.

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

I don't really like Weezer. JEW is ok and Green Day doesn't really grab me like they once did

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

ouch

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

yeah, that and ghost stories

Someone (July 26, 2006)

No shit, it's about time they threw us a bone. The Falcon was like on a sex strike from us. Darn Grecian women and their sex strikes.

colin (July 26, 2006)

Oh shit flaconndlfk:sjfds:

Someone (July 27, 2006)

just lost controlm eh? my reaction as well.

J

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

Question about the riptides. This news says Joe King on vocals but their myspace says Andy Vandal. Another nickname or a different guy?

Someone (July 26, 2006)

andy vandal's always done thier vocals. i'm guessing that should say joe queer is doing some guest vocals.

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

ohh okay. I think I just read it wrong.

colin (July 26, 2006)

almostpunkenough just filled the cup

SalsaShark (July 26, 2006)

Fuck! Beat me to it.

el_matt (July 26, 2006)

You mean he beat you to the joke or that APE filled the cup faster than you?

SalsaShark (July 27, 2006)

Beat me to the joke.

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

goddamn right.

colin (July 26, 2006)

also that "tube jammed" comment is GOLDEN.

fucking ted stevens. what a douchebag.

general_disarray (July 26, 2006)

haha. i caught that one too. The internet is not a dumptruck ya know...

Dante3000 (rich) (July 26, 2006)

I had a co-worker try and send me the internet today.
-Dante

niveK82 (July 27, 2006)

sorry i was downloading a movie. if only there was a tiered service pricing system

Fuzzy (justin) (July 27, 2006)

True stories of college tech support:

My friends and I worked the public helpdesk. We had at least 3 people (generally girls who were in sororities and wore their Greek letters across their fine, taught asses) a day come up and tell us that they "deleted the internet." We would often respond with "dammit, why did we store all of it on your computer then??" We did not get laid enough.

The end.

-Justin

Coldwaffles (July 26, 2006)

I gotta say, for how good this song is, if the rest of the album sounds this totally "fun," they should have dropped this in the summer. This shit competes with The Gold Record.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

gold record was disappointing. the summer vacation album was probably the last good thing they will do. if anything, this will compete with calcutta or rise against.

jamespastepunk (July 26, 2006)

the Falcon>Heavens

Someone (July 26, 2006)

word.

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

that's because heavens = not that good

Big_Guy (July 26, 2006)

Heavens is pretty dissapointing

Nap (July 27, 2006)

Heavens disappointed me so hard!!

el_matt (July 26, 2006)

YES! New Lillingtons album, life just got 100% more awesome for anyone that loves pop-punk.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

oh yeah, the lillingtons NEED to come back!

Angiepants (July 26, 2006)

ARRRGH IT ISN'T DOWNLOADING FOR ME. I think I might die.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

as if all my beer is warm right now. weak.

chickswithdicks (July 26, 2006)

i noticed that in the song info tag it says "(c) & (p) Fat Wreck Chords".

is there something we should know?

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

i thought they already mentioned that fat was gonna put it out. or maybe i'm terribly confused.

chickswithdicks (July 26, 2006)

really? i haven't heard anything, unless i just missed it..

TheRevisionist (July 26, 2006)

don't worry, there's a good chance i'm completely wrong

Someone (July 27, 2006)

Toby from Red Scare works at Fat Wreck. Maybe he's just using his resources to get stuff out there ASAP. Either way, it's coming out on the mighty Red Scare so deal with it!

RedScare (July 26, 2006)

That's just a mistake, must be cuz I ripped the mp3 at Fat. It's the kinda stuff I do at exactly 7:03 PST. There's no connection between the two labels except that they both put out terrible music.

chickswithdicks (July 26, 2006)

hmm so i guess there's no fantastic conspiracy then.. sigh, at least the song is still good.

and hopefully you'll both go out of business soon :)

SalsaShark (July 26, 2006)

Holy shiiiit. My day is fucking made! New Falcon song. Oh man, I love this. This album is going to be so fucking good.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

It's bittersweet, we have 2 months before we get the record.....

CUAPUNKRADIO (July 26, 2006)

any questions for brendan, im interviewin him on sunday?
mine as well throw out your ?s for the caper as well

chickswithdicks (July 26, 2006)

i just did the same on monday, you're gonna have a good time, kick ass dudes all around.

niveK82 (July 26, 2006)

ask him why the mp3 says "(c) & (p) Fat Wreck Chords."

CUAPUNKRADIO (July 26, 2006)

i was just thinking that

mcgregor107 (July 26, 2006)

toss up: Fugazi or Jawbreaker..

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

What's his favorite super hero?

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

*who's

el_matt (July 26, 2006)

What's his favorite quote from a movie?

someone-yeah (July 26, 2006)

Ask how it feels to KICK ASS

SalsaShark (July 26, 2006)

Favorite Jawbreaker song, favorite band on the radio today, worst band in history.

Ask about all of those please.

Scruffy (July 26, 2006)

Ask Joey Cape for sure about the future of Lagwagon. Are they gonna break up? Only tour? Put out another album?

Also, ask him to play more songs from Resolve live. Sure, it may not be their best seller, but it's their best.

And, I'm assuming you'll ask this, but ask Brendan when the Arms are gonna write and record another album, and what direction it looks like they're heading. Because most of their other albums were released within a year or so of each other, but after the 3 year wait for Oh! Calcutta!, I wanna know if I'm looking at a 2007 release, or a 2009 release.

Ven89 (July 27, 2006)

Definitely ask about Lagwagon, after that interview with him that was up a while back, it sounded like it was the end for the wagon. I'm hoping for at least one more tour if that's the case, because I'm going to miss this one.

Bowen (July 27, 2006)

A Guided Tour of Chicago - November 2, 1999
Ghost Stories - May 2, 2000
Chinkees Split - June 19, 2001
Shady View Terrace Split - August 14, 2001
Apathy & Exhaustion - February 12, 2002
The Greatest Story Ever Told - September 23, 2003
(The Falcon - God Don't Make No Trash OR Up Your Ass With Broken Glass - December 14, 2004)
Oh! Calcutta! - March 7, 2006

Seems like the whole Falcon coming into existence made for a bigger delay with Oh! Calcutta!...or maybe not.
I would rather not wait longer for new Larrys stuff, but I am also perfectly happy to listen to the Falcon while I wait.

miniblindbandit (July 26, 2006)

Why won't he return my calls?

sickboi (chris) (July 26, 2006)

Wait, you're inteviewing the Caper on Sunday too? So am I...

el_matt (July 27, 2006)

Dun dun dun!

CUAPUNKRADIO (July 27, 2006)

mutherfucker its on!

Someone (July 27, 2006)

How does he keep his voice from going to pieces singing like that night after night. Any tips?

miniblindbandit (July 27, 2006)

I'll just put that question from down there here too. Serious question this time.

Unicornography is 11 songs. 11 new ones or the EP plus 6 songs?

mcgregor107 (July 26, 2006)

this song is good, but meh, nothing jaw-droppingly special.. i really do enjoy the last minute of the song though.. good riff.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

There's always an asshole...you know you love it!

mcgregor107 (July 26, 2006)

hahh, you know you're a fanboy when..

Someone (July 26, 2006)

you express your love by saying things that are negative but you KNOW you love it! Just say it, I love it.

mcgregor107 (July 26, 2006)

ahhh.. alright, fine. muchos love comin' from my way for the song.. actually just thinking about the band members making music together is wicked enough.. i wouldn't even give a shit if they just smashed on empty recycling bins!

Someone (July 26, 2006)

Now did that kill you? Hmmm, recycling bins? suggest that for their next album.............

Someone (July 26, 2006)

motherFUCK this is a good song!!!

are the arms playing any of these songs on tour?

chickswithdicks (July 26, 2006)

nah

Someone (July 27, 2006)

That would be too good to be true.

Scruffy (July 26, 2006)

Clash! Clash! Clash City Rockers!

Naw, really, this is freaking awesome. I can't wait for this CD.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

TOTAL Clash. But fuck, the clash rule too. whatchoo gon' do?

Canucker (July 27, 2006)

Holy fuck I thought the same thing!

RedScare (July 26, 2006)

NOW I get it! TUBES! ALASKA!

Dante3000 (rich) (July 26, 2006)

Oh RedScare...The short bus wasn't kind to ye.
-Dante

Fuzzy (justin) (July 27, 2006)

Goddamn.
YOu're so fucking slow.

I'm so drunk.
Shoulda come and watched the awesome with me.

-Justin

tylerdurden8136 (July 26, 2006)

If the whole album is like this, it may very well bump "Oh Calcutta" out of the top spot for my album of the year.

Fuck the haters.

Someone (July 26, 2006)

agreed. man, i was just wondering yesterday when we'd finally get to here some of this stuff. even better than i was expecting

Someone (July 27, 2006)

i know it, the suspense was murder. We have 2 months before the CD is out. Fuck.

someone-yeah (July 26, 2006)

oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god

Someone (July 27, 2006)

don't stop now! ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Scruffy (July 26, 2006)

Man, I'm listening to the Dead Milkmen, and "Dean's Dream" is one awesome song.

irish_joo (July 27, 2006)

beach party vietnam= best dead milkmen song

Ollywood (July 27, 2006)

dean's dream is possibly my favorite dead milkmen song

SloaneDaley (July 26, 2006)

Spicey chicken Crunch Wrap supreme is good fod to drink when you'r drunk

coffinfullofnails (July 27, 2006)

damn how drunk are you?

Someone (July 26, 2006)

Riptides fucking kick ass.

alltogethernow (July 26, 2006)

AGREED. The RIPTIDES are one of the BEST Canadian punk bands EVER.

Red Scare is just getting bigger & better by the hour.

KUDOS!!!!! :)

.....real PUNK RAWK.

Uppie (July 27, 2006)

The Smugglers are the best Canadian punk band ever. But Riptides are pretty good too.

drunkenriot (July 27, 2006)

Sainte Catherines or Fifth Hour Hero?

el_matt (July 27, 2006)

The Red Scare logo would make a cool tattoo.

waytansea (July 27, 2006)

ahh this song is great!

David_Arquette (July 27, 2006)

This song is really good, but it still doesn't even touch the Lawrence Arms at their worst.

Big_Guy (July 27, 2006)

Where's Todd?

burningfeeetman (July 27, 2006)

I was gonna ask the same damn question.

Coldwaffles (July 27, 2006)

So, is Todd still in the Falcon, too? That picture and their myspace point to no, no?

Coldwaffles (July 27, 2006)

.. but Spin says yes... Conspiracy?

Someone (July 27, 2006)

Todd is no longer in the band.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

why would you gave spin magazine anything but aids?

Someone (July 27, 2006)

hey is spin gives us a falcon song, i ain't gonna complain.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

For once I agree with punknews posters! this falcon song is just really really good. The lillingtons and riptides sound promising too.

that heavens band is hurting compared to this stuff. shit rocks hard.

what band is this mythical Todd from?

David_Arquette (July 27, 2006)

Todd played on the second Rise Against record, and now he's in some other project, I think.

Ven89 (July 27, 2006)

Todd was in rise against at one point.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

Word has it he may be touring with a certain San Francisco based band.

mattp330 (July 27, 2006)

he was in rise against for a record and the killing tree

Someone (July 27, 2006)

For once I agree with punknews posters! this falcon song is just really really good. The lillingtons and riptides sound promising too.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

I remember seeing the riptides in KC back in the day with the methadones and the queers. good times. finally someone picked 'em up.

coffinfullofnails (July 27, 2006)

that because the falcon is fucking amazing and todd is from rise against, well atleast was.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

thank god for the falcon, i miss the days in chicago drinking with brendan,
Brokenstartrio!

Someone (July 27, 2006)

i imagine if you went back to chicago you could probly find that guy at any number of northside bars. seen it with me own eyes.

J

iconoclast (July 27, 2006)

alright, with all this hype, this shit better be good. here goes first listen. will i cum?

Someone (July 27, 2006)

nut on your chin?

Frankff (July 27, 2006)

After listening to the Falcon song, as Wayne would say, SCHWING !

Its ID tag seems fucked up though... (c) Fat Wreck Chords ? what the hell ?

Someone (July 27, 2006)

I think it was a mistake. that toby dude works at fat and must have ripped that mp3 from his work. poor bastard should get his own computer. reminds me, i need that bottle rocket record on vinyl.

Frankff (July 27, 2006)

Oh, ok, very plausible explanation.
I just thought Spin was really ignorant...

Someone (July 27, 2006)

is this coming out on vinyl?

i just listened to that heavens song, and wooo, it is gayer than freddy mercury. willandgrace-core.

fistful_of_pistol (July 27, 2006)

So whats going on with that "Blackout" clip....post it already, you say only giving us a minute is a dick tease, but saying youll post it and not showing up is twice as bad!

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

YES!!! YES

FUCKING YES!

ok, hold on, i'm gonna listen to this....

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

well this just made my fucking week. awesome. just... fucking awesome.

kingofsuck (July 27, 2006)

The tubes thing is fucking hilarious. This site has gotten 35% funnier this week. Are all of the editors on a bender this week, like me?

A new Falcon song might make this the best birthday ever.

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

is it your birthday like right now? or yesterday, i'll continue my bender tomorrow.

either way, happy fucking birthday... and a new Falcon song should be everyones gift.

and yea, keep up the smartass-ery guys.

kingofsuck (July 27, 2006)

It's right now. I don't really like my birthdays because they're remind me that I'm growing up, but a new Falcon song will help distract me for a little while. That and drugs and alcohol.

Fuck adulthood.

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

that's what i say... yet supposedly i'm an adult.

how old are you? cause they get really bad starting at 22.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

22 was okay, but at 23, I didn't leave the house for a week. Just drank in the dark by myself.

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

ah, you;re my age. that sure fucking sucks.

i don't remember my 23rd birthday. i've been told there was lots of sex and vomiting.

and the Knicks lost to the Celtics last year, can' t remember any other details, not for drunkness, but because it was so uneventful. we had a three kegger that weekend, that was a killer time.

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

i didn't even realize you weren't kingofsuck. but it's all still valid information, or something.

kingofsuck (July 27, 2006)

I'm 19 now. They've just gotten worse each year now. haha

AlmostPunkEnough (July 27, 2006)

you're in the prime man. 19-22, best years of my life (cept for 9/11). live it up goddamnit!

kingofsuck (July 27, 2006)

Haha. I'll try. I have a feeling that things will start looking up around the end of the summer.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

So there I was...minding my own creepy business, when I found this SEVERED HAND IN THE LOCKER ROOM!

Anyone who recognises this wins. Fucking hard.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

COACH Z holmes

fluxy44 (July 27, 2006)

Falcon or Heavens?

kingofsuck (July 27, 2006)

I think everyone will go with the Falcon. But, they're two different types of music, so it's kind of hard to compare them.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

Exactly

Bryne (July 27, 2006)

This song is fucking great.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

I was going to have a wank today. After hearing this there is no need anymore!

Moo

mattp330 (July 27, 2006)

todd mahoney is not in this picture, but brendan is wearing a shirt that say mahoney baloney, so that means.......... i got nothing

SenorPotpourri (July 27, 2006)

The Senor is confused... Why did Ann Beretta change their name to the Falcon?

- Senor Potpourri

coffinfullofnails (July 27, 2006)

close but no cigar . that sound like a couple songs off pennies MAYBE. this has a different feel than ann berretta electric or acoustic.

Someone (July 27, 2006)

congrats to the riptides, and to pat birtch for reppin bville ontario

-millman

Someone (July 27, 2006)

I'm going to leave this on tonight while I sleep.

I predict bunnies.

coffinfullofnails (July 27, 2006)

fucking amazing. im broke and good albums keep coming out i dont know what to do. oh yes i do, find some money, spange, whatever, and get them.

miniblindbandit (July 27, 2006)

So this is going to be 11 songs long. Is that 11 new songs or the EP and 6 new ones?

fritobandito (July 27, 2006)

YES!! I was SO hoping this song would have a clapping breakdown at the end. Clapping breakdowns are amazing.

this is awesome.

mCLz (July 27, 2006)

are either of the songs one of the 4 ska songs on the cd.....i miss slapstick

bottlerocketscience (July 27, 2006)
