Underoath drops off Warped Tour

According to Alternative Press, Christian metalcore favorites Underoath have canceled their upcoming appearances on the Vans Warped Tour due to unforeseen circumstances. The band made the following statement:

"We're deeply frustrated and sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We felt it necessary to take some immediate time to focus on our friendship, as that's more important than risking it for the sake of touring at this time"

The band will be part of the international Taste of Chaos tour this Fall, continuing to support their latest release, Define the Great Line.

This is why I hate that Cleveland's the last U.S. date this year. We've already lost Reggie And The Full Effect, the Fall Of Troy, Gatsbys American Dream, He Is Legend and now Underoath -- all bands I was planning on checking out. Damn you, routing gods!

They were the last band to play in Miami before the skies opened up -- nice guys and all, but not into that band at all.

NOFX managed to play after about 90 mins of waiting (LTJ and Thursday couldn't play after) and wound up being the last band. "I'd like to thank Underoath for that storm," was Fat Mike's only comment a/b 'em.

well, the way Underoath treats it's enemies and/or friends is respectable. they live their lives according to the Bible, which is why they live out loud. out loud for God. they spread the good news that everyone should know. ESPEACIALLY Fat Mike. he REALLY needs to feel Gods love, which I understand Underoath did. So Fat Mike migth be more famous, but Undroath will alway be bigger people.

Wednesday Night Heroes, The Briefs, Virus Nine, Angry Samoans, Dropkick Murphys, Street Dogs, 800 Octane. Try some of those bands, they are a lot better in my opinion than the bands you listed.

i have listened to nofx my whole life and underoath since their 3rd cd...and i am a major fan of them both....fat mike has really crossed the line if its true....he has gotten so full of himself that its really gross...always shoving his opinion in other peoples face....im not christian but i still support underoath b/c they have alot of talent

With any big multi-band tour, no matter who you are, there are going to be bands you like and bands you don't. It's not going to do us any good to complain about certain bands being on the tour. It sucks that Underaoth is gone, but we don't know the real reasons why, so let's not assume, treat rumors as fact, or make up reasons.

NoFX did some great things for music in the 90's. Without bands like them, bands like Underoath wouldn't exist today, so they should be thankful for that. Underoath isn't still playing the same music that was popular over a decade ago, they took things to a new level and they draw the crowd. NoFX should be thankful for that.

Most of the bands at warped tour act like professionals. They are respectful and appreciative of each other. It's a shame with the bands that fail to do this. It's also a shame if we can'

You know how they have the poll for who plays an extra 10 minutes at warped tour? For Chicago From First to Last was winning, then they dropped off. After that UInderoath started gaining the lead, now they are gone.

what does it say about your faith if one dude who is drunk all the time can get you to drop off a tour? seriously; i like nofx and i hate organized religion, but this seems like "we couldn't take somebody calling us names." why couldn't they just turn the other cheek? it's not logical to me.

i don't really like them anyway. but if they did drop off because of nofx, that's pretty pathetic.

Even if it was about NOFX, NOFX took stabs at them almost every day and it was getting to be ridiculous. I thought it was funny and all, but it got to be way over the top.

And I don't think it's neccessarily about faith, even if it involves Fat Mike. The problem is being heckled all the time by someone who you could be sharing a stage with.

He is probably referring to the Energizer (I believe) thing where a band gets to play 10 minutes longer. Underoath was probably in the lead and Rise Against was probably in second, but now, since Underoath dropped, RA is in the lead.

I really doubt that's why they dropped off, who gives a shit what some dude who used to make dick jokes but now wants you to take his politics seriously says. Fat Mike said it was ok for him to preach his messages of "being nice to people" and going against bush were cool because they were positive. Yet someone preacing about how Jesus makes their life better isn't positive? Plus since when is "being nice to people" insulting their religious choice? Fat Mike is the loser on this one, or maybe he's the loser for making the same record over and over again.

I like most of NOFX's music, but over the last few years Fat Mike has really gotten full of himself. I'm glad he's trying to rally people to support good causes, but he seems to forget that he's just a singer in a punk band. He's not a comedian, a politician or a prophet sent by science to disprove God's existence. NOFX has always had political songs, but now instead of poking fun they preach. Fat Mike claims to be open-minded but when it comes to issues like religion and politics he's just as close-minded and bigotted as those who rants about. The last couple times I've seen NOFX they've spent more time talking than they have playing music. Fat Mike needs to get a clue and go back to doing what he does best--getting high and writing great (and sometimes even semi-intelligent) punk songs.

And also, I read over there that apparently the lead singer did coke with Fat Mike, Fat Mike told everyone, and the rest of Underoath got pissed at him and now the singer might be out of a job.

The whole Fat Mike part of that story though, doesn't make sense. But it would be funny if true.

IF you people honestly think Underoath would drop off a tour, disappoint fans, and pull out of touring obligations all because of one loud mouth 40 year old having his mid life crisis on camera then you really don't know these guys at all. WE all have shit we go through and sometimes we all need time to deal with it. some of us have the luxury of not having every message board kid make sniping comments while we try. obviously underoath don't... but as someone who is a close friend to all of them I can tell you, it ain't at all about Fat mike, although I'm sure he'd really love to high five himself right now. Maybe he can take credit for getting kids to get out and vote too.... while he's at it.. oh right, yeah, that didn't work either.

I think it's incredibly hypocritical that Fat Mike makes fun of anyones beliefs. To criticize a band for their religion is no worse than 'christians' judging people based on their sexual preference.

and I couldn't care less about Underoath, God, religion, etc. but I do think fake politicians like Fat Mike should not be guilty of the same judgemental and negative name calling he condemns these bands of possesing toward gays.

fat mike is a meathead, a jock basically posing as a punk who is actually a greedy little capatilist who apparently hasn't noticed he lives in a glass house.

nofx = outdated, jock rock crap 40 years olds still singing about beer, boobs and farting.

You're an idiot, if NOFX had the desire, they could have been a huge band, much bigger than Blink, AFI, Offspring, etc. They never left the indy world for a big pay day, so calling them greedy is way off base.

Your jock rock argument makes no sense either, I think you're confusing them with Linkin Park or some shit band like that.

hey, when did underoath ever said somehing bad about nofx or fat mike? never right, they even said they were excited about playing with nofx. i even liked nofx and respected fat mike, but now that i know that fat mike is a bigmouth full of shit motherfucker, i don't think of listening to nofx anymore. i like underoath and i think they're good guys, that's why they have thousands and thousands fans more than nofx.

This is so cute listening to you all speak about how much of an asshole Fat Mike is. But its true, he is an asshole and ya know, he's a punk too. Moreso than most others in the "scene". If you're in a band and you choose to make this band a christian "punk" band (or hardcore or metalcore or whateverthefuck Underoath wants to call themselves) and you make records and go on tour and you have a hard time dealing with one guy (or several guys) talking shit about you then you don't really have what it takes to be a band. If you're afraid of bringing your message to the world because of some hater, then you're a pussy, plain and simple.

Then again, saying shit like Dinosaurs never existed and are just a myth will get you alot of shit, no way around that

it's so sad for those of you who havn't realized that Jesus Christ died for you. He has never ending compassion for you, even if you try to be cool by hating him. Fat Mike is obviously realizing that Underoath is getting bigger and better than NoFx so he's doing all he can to bring them down. Congrats, his 4th grade anitcs won. Too bad Underoath has God guiding them every step of the way. Anything Fat Mike says won't change that.

I love how sutpid people come on here that know nothing about anything and sitll think Fat Mikle is a GOD amongst men it's hilarious. Trust me if you knew the actual going ons during the Warped tour experience you'd realive that Fat Mike was directly responsible for getting many bands kicked off and not just chrisitan ones (Death By Stereo).

I'll tell you right now it's more than just Fat Mike making fun of them and if you don't know that you shouldn;t even post on here because your retarded. Fat Mike has amazing aounts of pull and he can make life terribel on Warped if he doesn't liek you and I guarentee none of those who posted on here could handle a whole tour with someone you trully just hate. I know from touring experience emotions are at a high.

. You all can't deny that uO will more than likely not be a band that will stick around for years to come and continue to make "ground breaking" music. They're not doing anything that much different. And this is most likely a type of music that isn't going to be a staple in the music scene for many years.

With that said however, this is very sad to see, but when you are continually getting persecuted for making the kind of music you make, playing it for the largest crowds at Warped, all the while trying to have an uplifting message for the kids that goes in turn with their music, getting made fun of by the punk bands and members who think the music scene has turned to shit because of bands like uO, then why WOULD you wanna stay on the tour? That was a really long sentence.

When they came through Dallas tho, they had the biggest crowd all day. A
