New Details on Leftover Crack Split with Citizen Fish

Leftover Crack have posted an update on their Myspace with the status of their split record with Citizen Fish:

That's right we are at this very moment recording our side of the split record with citizen fish to be released sometime between holloween and the end of january, maybe as early as november. Ezra is laying down his song ("WW4") with Alec and Ara, we finished recording my 3 originals not an hour ago, the ska/punk "hit" being "your time is up!" a scathing indictment of rich greedy vampire types that bleed the proletariat of the world dry, also "life causes cancer" and a 3rd as yet untitled. Now I gotta do scratch vox on our Citizen Fish cover, then it's Brads song and then our subhumans cover. Citizen Fish are set to record their 5 originals and their C.V. & L.O.C. covers at the end of august.

The ever-controversial band released Fuck World Trade in 2004.

I always considered LOC to have more in association with bands like Nausea, Conflict, Crass etc, but the two times i have seen them live, they kind of come off as pretentious assholes.

How do you judge "what's better" concerning art? It's
just a matter of personal preference.

listen to.

i dunno. i liked both of LOC's albums, and kind of liked Fuck World Trade better. They have a funny, sadistic, yet more informed approach to politics than most pop-punk bands that sing about politics anyway. its relieving that in such serious music there's some humor. i don't like the shit they talk about rancid but i'm a lif eling rancid fan, so that's overkill. uh, LOC does make pretty solid music. I'm surprised they're such good friends with Anti-Flag. There music does have a message beneath the sadistic super leftist with a kitchen knife, burning a american flag while a up side down cross hangs from their neck, exterior.

they only talk shit about rancid because hell-cat censored the first album. tim or lars or someone made them change the title from shoot the kids at school to mediocore generica, and then made them cange the art. all because best buy and a bunch more chain stores refused to carry the album if it wasnt changed. the band was against it but the label forced it. so thats why they have "beef" with rancid and left hell-cat for alternative tentacles.

and fuck world trade was definetly the best.
but last time i saw them it sucked because it was in a shitty old basement with a shitty p.a. but they are generally sweet live.

they definitely hate cops and i don't think its so far-fetched to want to see cops dead. they said fuck world trade before september 11th (on the choking victim album in the song 'fuck america'). AND, if you read stza's rant in the liner notes of that album you'll see a logical explanation. obviously they're not really satanists because thats just as stupid as being a christain. so, i don't know if 80% of what they say isn't actual beliefs. i think they're pissed off at society and america to the extent that they hate it. they're beliefs aren't that far-fetched.
