Anti-Flag discuss update on future performances

Anti-Flag have posted a band update as they finish up the last few dates of Warped Tour:

Everything has been very excellent, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you who caught our set and stopped by to say hello. Also, thank you to everyone who signed the militaryfreezone.org petition and took an opt-out form. We must continue to educate ourselves and inform others.

The band is also preparing for their August 22nd appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. Free tickets are still available here for the outdoor performance for those 16+ with a valid I.D.

After their appearance on late night TV, Anti-Flag are set to head over to the UK for August 26th and 27th's Leeds and Reading Festivals. After the fests, the band will join Taking Back Sunday and Thursday on the Taste of Chaos International tour. Finally, the band has confirmed shows for January that "Canadians will be stoked" about.

The band is touring in support of their latest release For Blood and Empire.

They were just here about a year ago. Played with Bad Religion. Now both are back about a year later on separate tours...

I'd say Bad Religion is a political punk band. I wouldn't really classify NOFX as a political punk band unless you only have started to listening to them recently.

I'll be interested to see the what the crowd for the Kimmel show looks like. Generally, despite what band it is, you tend to see the same generic kids bopping up and down, unfamiliar with the band, but either enjoying the music or just happy to be on TV.

Maybe for this one, we'll see a few "punx".

fuck anti flag and thier rah rah bullshit. do you think they actually beleive all that middle finger waving fuck you shit they preach on stage? it sounds so contrived and rehearsed. at this point its just part of the act. after all these years i still love propagandhi though. they are a million times better that anti flag and stay true to thier roots. too bad they never tour.

well i agree with you there. 'tis the only reason i never picked up their ep's or full length. they put on a good show, theyre nice dudes, INSANE talent, but i just can't get into the style/singer.

And for the record, the only good political punk band was the Clash. Unless I'm forgetting one. NOFX isn't political enough(they've just got into it), and A-F just sucks.

Dead Kennedys, DOA, Bad Religion, Operation Ivy, Pennywises old stuff. Theres alot of great political punk band. The clash were fucking amazing too.

The tour is Anti-Flag, Rise Against and Billy Talent. they were talking about it it at warped tour.
