Rock‘n’Roll Soldiers leaves Atlantic, releases album digitally

After having difficulties with their major label, Atlantic Records, Rock 'n'Roll Soldiers have finally been able to release their debut full length, So Many Musicians To Kill.

Originally signed to Gearhead, the band released a compilation of their two Gearhead EPs titled The Two EPs before running into difficulties with the full length. The situation mirrors the problems faced by Vaux with Atlantic earlier this year,

The album will be released to retail in October, but has been made available on Apple's iTunes service in the interim.

I know that this band has a song on EA Sports MLB MVP 2005...it's sucky. Also, I saw this band open for LTJ/AWS...also sucky...

That soundtrack is the reason I can't listen to "Tessie," by DKM to this day. Between r'n'r soldiers and that dance band (the caesars or something? maybe?) that may be the worst, yet catchiest, video game soundtrack ever.

Similar to Vaux, the label execs didn't think these guys had the songs to make a big record...and since they had no real following either...see ya later.

they were on some shitty verizon commercial where these kids are texting to find a barn party/show. the kids run through some fields and open the barn door to reveal them playing on stage. it was awful.

Actually they were never signed to Gearhead, they just released a couple of vinyl e.p.s. There's no bad blood between Atlantic and the RNRS. The chairman of Atlantic is a stand up guy and let the band have their record back. The Soldiers don't see themselves as victims here, they gave it a shot on a major label but now get to go back to being independent and build their fanbase. Most of the people reading this are going to post negative stuff about the band because of their history on Atlantic and the fact that they're not an emo or punk band. If you don't get it, that's cool. If you feel you've got to dis the band go ahead, their fans don't care either way.
