Kerrang! award ceremony winners

Kerrang Magazine held an awards ceremony last evening in London. Lostprophets ended up being the big winners, taking home awards for Best Album and Best British Band, while Slayer were inducted into the Kerrang! Hall of Fame and AC/DC's Angus Young was voted as the Kerrang! Legend.

Best British Newcomer – Bring Me The Horizon

Best International Newcomer – Aiden

Best Live Band –Muse

Best Single – Bullet For My Valentine ("Tears Don't Fall")

Best Album – Lostprophets (Liberation Transmission)

Classic Songwriter – Placebo

Best Video – Fall Out Boy ("Sugar We're Going Down")

Spirit of Independence – The Prodigy

Best British Band – Lostprophets

Best Band On The Planet – My Chemical Romance

Kerrang! Hall of Fame – Slayer

Kerrang! Legend – Angus Young

Yeah with such profound lyrics as "A friend in need's a friend indeed, a friend with weed is better, a friend with breasts and all the rest, a friend who's dressed in leather" who could argue that placebo are not among the greats?

The only one I'd even come close to agreeing with is Muse for best live performance. I've never seen them live, but from watching videos and hearing people talk about it, they're pretty amazing.
