Tours: Frenzal Rhomb / Lawrence Arms (Australia)

Australia's Frenzal Rhomb have revealed the "special" US guests and the dates for their upcoming Australian tour. The band will be joined by the Lawrence Arms as they make their way across the country and continent.

The dates come in support of their upcoming full length. Due out October 7th, the album is titled Forever Malcolm Young.

The band previously released Sans Souci and since then, two members - Jay and the Doctor - took to the airwaves as the new hosts of Triple J's breakfast show.

Oh god. Here come all the "OMG LAWRENCE ARMS R SO KEWL" posts. Except if they were so great and drawed at all, they wouldn't be playing with a band like Frenzal Rhomb.

If I went on the street and asked 50 people if they liked the Lawrence Arms, I guarantee none of them haven't even heard of them or actually like decent music.

Sounds to me like somebody is in a band that really wanted to be on that Frenzal tour!

So ya know, Frenzal Rhomb is quite big in Australia. They have gold records and shit.

frenzal rhomb are really huge in Australia. 2 of their members have a nationally syndicated radio show and they've been a staple of the summer touring circuit for ten years.

to put it in perspective, the bouncing souls supported frenzal rhomb two years ago.

as for your '50 random people off the street wouldn't know who they are' assertion, you're probably right. they're hardly popular. but i don't see the correlation between what i like and what is popular. don't pass your opinion off as fact and you won't look like a huge jerk. same goes for being self-involved enough to think people care what you think or that your opinion holds more weight than anyone else's.

i for one am super excited about the lawrence arms tour. i hope they play oh! calcutta! in it's entirety.

you could name any current punk band perhaps with the exception of rancid to 50 people on the street and none of them would know who the fuck you're talking about. But I guarantee that at least 50% of punk fans will have at least heard of the lawrence arms, if not like them
They're an awesome, talented band and i hope they go on making amazing records for a long time. So before you start shit lets see your band go on a world tour and have anyone show up

Dear all australian punks:

Lawrence Arms are pretty awesome live. You should really go see them. Oh, and get Cocktails & Dreams while you're there. Its impossible to find that album, dammit, and I hate buying online. I mean, when I bought Gorillaz's (Gorillaz'z?) Demon Days, that thing came fucked up.

I guess I'm rambling on.

But you Aussies should hope the Lawrence Arms ramble.

Frenzal Rhomb have toured this country like a motherfucker for like...ever. Yet, I've seen the Larence Arms but not Frenzal. Strange. They opened for Anti-Flag 2 years ago and I didn't even know who they were. lol.
