The Angelic Upstarts have clarified their future following the pending departure of founding vocalist Thomas Mensforth. Mensi announced that he was leaving the long running punk act this past summer. The band announced via their website:

the Angelic Upstarts to continue with Chris Wright singing and all the band members are happy to do this and keep alive the message, the music, the band and everything the Angelic Upstarts stand for. so you haven't seen the last of us. We'll be around for a long time yet! and for the doubters.. you'll never break the spirit, past, present or future. once an upstart always an upstart!

Chris hails from Karrow, UK based punk act Crashed Out. His brother Lee previously played guitar for the Upstarts.
