Ben Harper (ex-Yellowcard) joins Amber Pacific

Ben Harper, formerly of Yellowcard and currently running Takeover Records, has gone from touring guitarist to full-fledged member of Amber Pacific.

The Hopeless pop-punk act made the announcement today:

After going about a year without a formal replacement for our old guitarist, we are proud to formally announce Ben Harper [...] is now officially a member of Amber Pacific. He will now be a permanent fixture on the road, and will also be recording our new album with us up here in Seattle. We couldn't be more excited to have him in the band.

The band continues to support their debut full length, The Possibility And The Promise.

ill stick with the same band but instead ill say midwestern songs of the americas. my favorites are 88 fingers louie - back on the streets and against all authority - 24 hour roadside resistance. but yeah, hopeless used to be badass.

i don't think he quit yellowcard, he was kicked out of the band. shitty move to a nice guy, at least he found someone he can tour with who seem like they will eventually make it to a middling/ semi-successful band. or they could end up falling off the planet like most bands of their stature

I love how everyone on this site gives no chance to any band not on Nitro or Fat Wreck. I love most of the bands on those labels, but there are other good bands out there too. This is a huge step for Amber Pacific, who has already put out two solid albums (an LP and an EP).
