We are very happy to tell you all that we have officially signed a record deal with Equal Vision Records. We want to thank everyone who has supported us along the way. We would not have this opportunity without all of you who listen to our music, come out to shows and help spread the word about DATH. We are very excited about working with the people at Equal Vision. We have spoken with many people at the label and people who have worked with the label and we are confident that they will let us continue to make our music the way we want to make it.The band have finished recording their full-length Small Steps, Heavy Hooves, but haven't solidified a release date yet. You can hear a couple tracks from the album on MySpace.
Equal Vision have signed Dear and the Headlights. The band had this to say about the signing:

Holy crap. That band name is so bad it makes me angry. I'm actually upset. Dear. Dear! for christ sake. Holy crap I can't breath.

When I saw that band name I was like a Deer In The Headlights.

I hit a baby deer once. Pretty sad stuff. But then I just got angry because my girlfriend wouldn't stop crying. So I shot it. That shut her up.

this band is pretty bad. Shame on you equalvision. When will you realize your shittyness and drop all the shit bands on your label and pick up good ones like you once had. Damiera is good.

Wow, the Dear Hunter, Dear and the Headlights. Someone should do a band called Deer God.
crippledmark (October 23, 2006)
This was extremely confusing because there is an excellent Polyvinyl band called The Headlights.

Is Equal Vision on a quest to sign bands that have the worst names of all time?
Someone (October 23, 2006)
I remember the org' days when every band that was posted as getting signed on here was influenced by Refused. That was a good run. Well done Nitro and Epitaph for finally hiring some new A and R's. |
